Perfect for the Beach: Parasheet Beach Blanket
Living in Florida means we can go to the beach whenever we want. With that in mind it is important to note that the beach isn’t just down the street from my house, at least not the beach that leads to the ocean. The beach is about an hours drive to either the Atlantic or the Gulf so when we go we plan on going for the entire day and we like to be prepared. There are three things that are absolutely necessary: Coppertone (note: I am a Coppertone Mom!), cooler full of cold beverages, and the Parasheet Beach Blanket by Grand Trunk.

We’ve used our beach blanket about 10 times now so I feel I can give you a complete review without missing anything. It’s amazing. We’ve abused our Parasheet in every way we could think of and it’s in as good as new condition. What do I like best about it? It’s so compact and easy to store as well as transport. It weighs 16 ounces and folds itself into a self-contained pouch that doubles as a drawstring pocket when in use. I love that I don’t have to tug a blanket out every time we go to the beach. The lightweight is due to the material it’s made from, parachute nylon. It reminds me of parachute pants from the 80s. Since the material is so light it dries relatively quickly and the sand doesn’t cake on the blanket at all. Each of the corners of the blanket has pockets for you to fill with sand so that it doesn’t blow off even on the windiest of days….bonus! The Parasheet measures 7′ x 7′ making it a great beach blanket option, but you can also use it as a picnic blanket or concert blanket as it stores so easily in the trunk of your car.
You can’t go to the beach without a Parasheet!

Update: I read some reviews after posting this that some people were having problems with colors running therefore I suggest washing with like colored items as directed. We did not have a problem, but better safe than sorry.

This is so neat! I hate taking regular blankets or towels on the beach because of the sand…it drives me nuts when it gets trapped in the fabric! This on the other hand, is perfect! Thank you for sharing…definitely going to get one!

What a great idea. The thing I like best about it aside from the lightness is that the sand won’t cake on it and all you do is shake it . I really need one of these.
