Make-A-Wish Wolrd Wish Day is April 29th – Will You Help?

Isn’t he adorable?  His name is Cole and he is 3 years old.  Although he suffers from Hirschsprung’s disease he is still a happy, adorable little boy who has wishes like any other child.  What’s his wish?  To be a cowboy, of course.  For over 30 yearsMake-A-Wish® has been making wishes come true for children with life threatening medical conditions, such as Cole’s.  With celebrities such as WWE Superstar John Cena (who has made over 300 wishes come true) and people like you and me the organization has granted nearly 14,000 life-changing wishes in 2012.

I’ve been working with the #WWEmoms now for over a year and the work they do with the Make-A-Wish organization is inspiring.  John Cena is personally matching every frequent flier mile donated in the month of April up to 4.5 million.  Not only is he one of the most requested wish granters, but he and the WWE promote Make-A-Wish via their TV, digital, and social media venues.

Imagine what having a wish granted does for these children and their families.  Many times these wish fulfillments are the pivot point in the child’s treatment bring them hope and happiness while strengthening families and creating community bonds.  Joining together to help one another can make amazing things happen.

How can you help?

Donate.

Did you know that 75% of these wishes involve travel?  The expense of airfare adds up to nearly $37.5 million a year.  To cover the costs associated with travel Make-A-Wish® is spearheading a nationwide campaign leading up to World Wish Day®on April 29, asking for us to donate frequent flyer miles or dollars to help wish kids take flight.  It’s a small price to pay to make a dream come true, wouldn’t you agree?

This year, 10,000 wish kids and their families will travel for a Make-A-Wish® experience. That’s 50,000 roundtrip tickets or 2.5 billion frequent flier miles. In honor of World Wish Day®, the day of the wish that inspired the founding of Make-A-Wish, visit wish.org/tickets and donate miles and dollars – and help wish kids take flight.

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Make-A-Wish®. The opinions and text are all mine.
