The current campaign and sweepstakes sponsored by Puritan’s Pride is focused around One Small Change.  The movement is centered on taking one small thing and developing it into a healthy habit over the course of 60 days.  It’s a commitment within a small time frame that will help you make a healthy change in your life to help you feel better.  This is a challenge I’m going to take very seriously over the next couple months because I’ve come to realize changes have to be made in order for me to be around to enjoy my children and future grandchildren.

For the past six years I have had both high blood pressure and high cholesterol.  I’m also morbidly obese (yet still sexy) and relatively one of the unhealthiest people I know.  On the upside I do not drink, nor do I smoke or use recreational drugs.  I haven’t taken my health very seriously up until now.  I spent so much time focusing on losing weight that I overwhelmed myself into doing nothing at all.  I’m going to start with making one small change.

Guess what I choose to focus on?

Taking my medication and adding a multi-vitamin.  Sounds simple enough, doesn’t it?  Well, for whatever reason I just can’t seem to follow through.  I go to the doctor.  I get my prescriptions updated.  I go to the pharmacy and get them filled.  I take one when I get home and that’s it.  Then they sit there on my desk staring me in the face every day.  I don’t have side effects from my meds…I just don’t take them.  I don’t know why. It isn’t because I can’t swallow pills.  I take ibuprofen every day due to pain.  Regardless of the excuse, this is one small change that will give me a chance at living a longer life.
