One Stop Halloween Party Shop: Dollar General

We love Halloween, but it can be rather expensive if you plan on hosting a party and handing out treats to the neighborhood children.  Fortunately they just opened a Dollar General right down the road from us and we stopped in there this weekend to have a look see.

Since we have a party every year we have certain things that work for decorating and special dishes we serve every year.  We also do pumpkin decorating contests for the adults and kids and costume contests too.  Dollar General is a great resource for all things Halloween from decorations to candy and ingredients for special treats.  This year we added skeleton garland to our ghoulish décor and spookacular netting for our lights.  Every year we stop in to add to our growing collection and every year we find some incredible deals.

Have you ever run out of candy on Halloween?  Well, if you have you know how bad that can be.  Not only do you make a lot of kids disappointed but you also leave yourself wide open to being the target of an unjustified egging or shaving cream pranks.  However, if you go to your local Dollar General you can stock up on some major amounts of candy for a fraction of the price of your local grocery stores.  We picked up a couple huge assorted grab bags that included favorites such as Nerds, Starbursts, Tootsie-rolls, Gummy Lifesavers, Sweet-tarts and more.
