Every year we rack our brains about whether we should send Mothers Day flowers or candy…many of us sticking with the fail safe flowers. Buying gifts for her can truly be a challenge because, let’s face it, she gave birth to us. She is our creator (not to be confused with our Creator). My mom has been alive for 70 years and in that time she has accumulated a lot of things. She does not need jewelry, electronics, or anything else that will just make her already crowded home more crowded. So what are some of the things she likes most?
- Flowers accompanied by gift cards to local restaurants that she and my dad can go enjoy a meal together.
- Gift baskets filled with delicious delicacy she can try without having to purchase full-size.
- A bottle of wine is always a hit when accompanied with some crackers and cheeses.
- Chores – surprising her with doing some of the chores she doesn’t like doing.
The easiest part of Mother’s Day is that many of these things can be taken care of using a company such as Interflora, online. Since I live no where near my mom I rely on companies like this for almost every occasion.
