James went back to school last week supporting his new, personalized messenger bag from Lands End. For the last year he has been begging me for a messenger bag instead of a book bag. Now that he is in 2nd grade and “a big kid” I thought it was time to let him have it. This year we also purchased some new shoes, a few shirts, and some other clothing. His school does not wear school uniforms, but if they did Lands End offers those too.
We choose the Boys’ Solid FeatherLight Messenger Bag in black (currently less than $30). This bag is made of the same super strong ripstop nylon the other bags are made of therefore we know it will last all school year. The bag offers plenty of room for all his stuff – even his jacket. The side offers a great pocket for his water bottle too. Right now he is going out for the bus while it is still pitch dark outside so I LOVE the fact that this bag has reflective nylon all over it so cars can see him. The strap is adjustable and features a padded shoulder for comfort. We both are in love with this bag and having it monogrammed with his name is brilliant because no matter how much his classmates and other kids like it – it’s definitely James’.

What a great idea to get it monogrammed. I never wanted to spend money on a quality backpack because I thought someone might steal it or my daughter would lose it and no one would return it. I love Lands End stuff too so this is perfect.

We love Lands End too! My most recent favorite product is the Mary Janes for little girls. They are built like a sneaker, look like a dress shoe and wear like iron!!!!
That is a great looking back, and I love the monogram. I always resort to backpacks for my son, but I think he would actually prefer the messenger bag. I’ll have to check it out, we love Land’s End!
Some kids are more comfortable on messengers bag instead of book bags. The bag looks good but I think kids prefer more colorful bags.
Those bags are nice specially sporty type, simple messenger bag, but I am very sure that our child will be more comfortable.
