Come Discover Boating on Life with Lisa

One of the reasons we moved to Florida last year was to be closer to the water.  Not only did we want to be closer to the ocean, but we decided we wanted to live on a lake and we found the perfect place while vacation last year, East Lake Tohopekaliga. It’s not the largest lake in the county, but it’s still big (5 miles in diameter).

One of the first things we did when we moved here was invest in a jon boat with a motor so that we could enjoy the water.  Our house is right on the canal that feeds into the lake so we have a boat dock in the backyard that leads out to paradise.  Our goal is to get some kayaks and eventually move up to a full size motor boat of some sort…choosing a boat is always half the fun.

Growing up we loved going fishing, but since no one in my family was big into swimming (other than me) we never got to do much boating.  Today however boating and kids go hand and hand.  My youngest son loves going out on the lake with his dad and hubby loves bringing him.  It’s a great way to bond and a perfect thing to do for Father’s Day!
