A Man’s Guide: A Night Out
If you’re planning a special night out, you need to look your best if you want to impress your date. Getting ready for a date requires more than just your usual morning routine. To achieve a polished look that will impress anyone, try some of the following ideas for your next date.
Select Your Clothes Carefully
To make the best presentation possible, choose your clothes the night before your date. This will give you time to clean your clothes thoroughly. After washing your clothes, be sure to hang each garment in your closet to avoid wrinkles the next day. Choose an outfit that will help you fit in with your planned activity. If you’re going to a fancy dinner at an upscale restaurant, wear a nice pair of pants, business shirt and tie. If you’re seeing a movie with a date, go for an outfit that is casual, but not sloppy.
Hygiene Routine
Before your date, spend a few minutes cleaning your face. If your event is in the evening, be sure to shave again. If you’re worried about the appearance of ingrown hairs, avoid a close shave. Close shaves with inferior razors can cause pores to become irritated. If you’re looking to prevent ingrown hairs the best step is to invest in a specialized cream that releases trapped hairs.
Don’t forget to take care of a few other hygiene issues before you rush out the door. First, if you have the time, take a shower and wash your hair. Brush and floss your teeth to help your smile dazzle your date. Clean and trim your fingernails to make them more presentable.
Final Preparations
Before you leave your home for your date, go through a final checklist in your mind. Check your teeth in your mirror to make sure you haven’t left a piece of lunch in your teeth. Comb your hair one more time for a polished look. If you haven’t already, apply a light amount of cologne. You may want to slip a few small items into your pocket to help your breath stay fresh, including breath mints and floss.
Even if you don’t consider yourself a suave person, you can still look nice and stylish for your next special date. If you remember to give yourself plenty of time to properly prepare for your date, you’ll certainly make a good impression.

I wish this was mandatory reading for single men.
As a woman I am very much particular with how a man look like especially the way he dress himself and also how gentle he is. This is a must read to all men.
I wish my hubby has read this as well, but I’m sure he would resist to read a book like that, and I admit it that there is an ambivalence between the male behavior and a man reading a romantic book. A real man doesn’t need to read these things, he has to have them in his veins.
This should be taught in schools. Oh, and no binaca guys!

I’m surprised at how men are relying on their own beauty without thinking about some common rules they, perhaps, have to follow to win a lady. Nice shave, haircut, smell are one of those things that should not be overlooked!
Everything is on point here. Well said (or written) I always make sure to be well-groomed and smelling good before going out for the night. It does amaze me though.. so many dudes have piss-poor hygiene and just pretty much rock the funk! I care about my appearance .. not too hard to find time for a shower and a little hygiene/grooming.
Oh, and I haven’t heard about Binaca in so long haha
