Meet Lightbulb: My #BuildABoxtrollSweeps Boxtroll

Say hello to my little friend, Lightbulb, the newest member of The Boxtrolls family, created by my son and me!  As part of the #BuildABoxtrollSweeps we decided to build Lightbulb in hopes of being the lucky winner  who will win an all-expense paid trip for 4 to the L.A. movie premiere of Boxtrolls!  You remember that from my last Boxtroll post when I asked you to guess what kind of Boxtroll I would build, don’t you?  I bet no one thought of Lightbulb!

Building Lightbulb

We saw that someone had built a Boxtroll using a toilet paper roll and since we  had a very limited amount of supplies laying around we made do with what we had on hand.

• Small Lightbulb
• Toilet Paper Roll
• Adhesive Tape (any tape would do)
• 2 Straws
• Toilet Paper
• Marker

We cut 1/3 of the toilet paper roll and squared it up by making a slight bend in half and then in  half the other way to make it square.  We then took a straw and cut legs, taped them to some toilet paper and stuffed them in the cavity of the larger part of the roll.  We squared up the small part of the roll and stuffed it as well with toilet paper and a larger piece of straw to make the arms.  Finally we took a small lightbulb and taped a piece of leftover straw on the bottom to feed through the hole on the top of the smaller piece of roll. Took 10 minutes!
