Going Places in a 2017 Toyota Tacoma

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post written for Orlando area Toyota Dealers. I was given a week to test drive a vehicle and share my experience.

After test driving a 2017 Tacoma TRD 4×4 Double Cab for a week, I became a big Toyota fan. Until recently, I can’t tell you I’ve ever driven a Toyota. Now that I have, I see what they mean by “lets go places.” We took our Toyota truck to the ACC championships, hiking, kayaking, fishing, on a date night, and even loaded it up with groceries and a few big purchases we were holding off on because we didn’t want to pay for delivery. Toyota trucks are fun to drive, practical, economical, and great family vehicles.

At first I wasn’t sure we would go many places at all. I’ve never owned a truck before so I expected horrible gas mileage, a bumpy ride, and uncomfortable seats. The minute the sales person at the dealership invited us into the vehicle all my expectations were shattered. The seats were very comfortable and the vehicle was loaded will all sorts of cool features. After syncing my phone I was in social media and entertainment heaven. Everything I needed was right in front of me on the console. Absolutely amazing!

Tacoma’s are much more fuel efficient than I imagined. We got up to 20 mpg which means it took around 5 gallons of gas to go 100 miles. I think that’s good considering the fact we were loaded up with kayaks and all sorts of gear most of the time. I’m really impressed with the Tacoma’s 3.5L V6 engine. It’s powerful and doesn’t cost a lot to drive.

The suspension rides down the road surprisingly smooth. I expected to hear tons of road noise and be jostled around a lot. Especially when hubby took us off road. This Toyota rode more smoothly than any other truck I’ve ever ridden in. It feels nothing like your average four-wheel drive truck going down the road. The suspension does a great job absorbing all the bumps and for a truck this size it was also much more maneuverable than I expected. I loved how responsive the steering was. Pulling in and out of parking spaces was quick, easy, and painless.

Toyota Tacoma’s are great trucks for adventurous moms like me. Whether heading out by yourself, with the husband, or the whole family, the 2017 Tacoma will take you everywhere you ever wanted to go. There’s lots of leg room and its an all around great ride. I didn’t want to give this vehicle back but without getting to drive it for a week I would have never known how great of a vehicle it was. Now I have something to save up for. I would love to own one of these in pink!
