It’s all about the apps baby!

 Windows 8.1 Tutorials

Although Windows 8.1 has been out for a while there are still people out there that are still “getting used to it.” Out of all the changes Microsoft has made through the years this one seems to have been the most drastic to me for whatever reason. Maybe I’m just getting old and set in my ways, who knows? For those of you like me there are lots of helpful resources that can be utilized to unlock the “mystery” of Windows 8.1 if you will…

Don’t take me wrong , Windows 8.1 is extremely user friendly and simple to use, all you need is a bit of a tutorial. You just need to learn the new ways to go about things is all… Some of us may need a bit more of a tour than others but participating in at least a few is highly recommended. You will be amazed at what all you can do with Windows 8.1. My favorite tutorials came directly from Microsoft. Click here for the top 10 Windows 8.1 tutorials.

Windows 8.1 is actually really amazing and by far the best Windows operating system to date in my opinion and it’s all about the apps for me baby! Whether at work or waiting in line apps are the only thing that seem to be able to numb the pain of my boredom. Apps keep me occupied and provide a convenient escape when necessary. Can you relate?

There is nothing worse than being bored at work. Well maybe there are worse things but still… I like to keep myself occupied to make the day go by faster. What gives? It’s like employers want to block every source of entertainment on the web so all you have to do is work. Its like they want it to be ALL work and NO play… Well sometimes at work you have to wait and while waiting I would rather play a game than stare at the wall. Sometimes playing games is the only thing that keeps people from going home on really slow days. Playing games also keeps my brain sharp and prevents me from falling asleep. With all the games there are to choose from at the Windows store you never have to be bored again! Just be careful and don’t go and get yourself in trouble at work playing games. Getting fired for playing games is not advisable. Know your limitations. Game responsibly.

With Windows 8.1, staying connected to your social networks is also easier than ever before. Just download apps and when you sign in to windows you will automatically sign in to all your social networks. Everything runs in the background which cuts down on distractions and still allows for updates and messages. I don’t know about you but it kind of stresses me out to have a hundred things running on one screen. I like how I can switch back and forth from the desktop to using apps, it’s definitely one of my favorite features. Being able to switch so easily from the app screen to the desktop makes it easier to keep your social endeavors a bit more private too if you catch my drift… One click can bring you back to the desktop and maybe even the work you are “supposed to be doing” when someone comes by your computer unexpectedly.

There are a lot of really good games in the Windows Store to choose from. Some are free to play and some are not. Always skim through the reviews and heed the warnings!!! Some free games aren’t really free as they want you to make frequent in game purchases in order to progress or be competitive. Some games will screw up your phone. Pay to play games on your phone can end up costing more money than games on other platforms with better graphics and gameplay. “All’s you have to do,” is read the reviews. A quick perusal of the reviews will give you a better idea of what exactly you are downloading. If the game crashes a lot, freezes your phone, is laden with malware, has bugs or glitches, if you have to pay in order to be competitive, all of this kind of information can be found in the reviews! After all good decisions are based on good information right?

If you found this article helpful or would like to share your favorite Windows games feel free to leave a comment. I am always looking to try out a new game so I’m always open to suggestions. How has your Windows 8.1 experience been thus far? What resources helped you through the transition? What are your favorite games?
