Havertys Home Fashion Workshops Are Back!

Havertys Home Fashion Workshops Are Back!

I am really excited about this year’s Home Fashion Workshops at Havertys!

If you are anything like me you are always looking for new ideas for home décor. I don’t get to spend a lot of time around the house but when I do I want it to feel like home. I also use decorating as a creative outlet of sorts and am always open to a new look!

Whether my inspiration comes from TV, Pinterest, magazines, or by window shopping, one of the most enjoyable sources of information is Havertys. They offer free Home Fashion Workshops that are actually quite enjoyable as they are not sales based. Nobody tries to sell you anything and there is no pressure to purchase anything. I don’t know about you but there is nothing that turns me off more than high pressure sales!

All the workshops are designed to be educational and are very comfortable and casual. According to them you don’t always have to buy something new. Sometimes all you need to do is move things around or re-purpose! Sometimes it’s all about reworking what you already have.

Now don’t get me wrong. I did buy a few things but it had nothing to do with them… The items I bought were simply irresistible and I had to have them! If you are a shopper like me you have come to the right place. When you walk in the door you can expect to be greeted promptly and informed if you need any help as there is always an associate nearby. That is how I like to shop! Help is only a nod away!

Last year I learned how to use accent pieces for things other than what they were intended for in order to mix things up and showcase creativity and style. This beautiful Thistledown Accent Chest can also double as a bedside table!

I also learned about mixing fabrics and leather to create the most interesting and unique looks. Not only can you mix fabrics you can also mix wood finishes! Just because you have a few oak or cherry pieces doesn’t mean you have to do more of the same. I think the folks down at Havertys can make just about any situation work.

When I was in the store these last several items caught my eye. I use these baskets as a focal point on a shabby chic end table that contains some of our freshly canned goods!

I ended up purchasing these pool balls for my husband’s man cave that look amazing in his game room!

My favorite workshops were Spring Color Trends, Finding Your Style, & Dining, Entertaining & Holiday Decor! Click here for a full description of my previous experience!

No matter what your skill level you are sure to learn something. These workshops are perfect for young couples decorating their first home and even old fogies like me that have tried just about everything!

What inspires you to decorate your home? Growing up it seemed as though my grandmother changed the themes of her bedroom and bathrooms every few months. Surprisingly she was able to do this for little to no money. The possibilities are endless because here at Havertys you don’t have to rely on your own creativity. They have an expert staff that is always willing to lend an idea or two.

Do you know the correct placement of an accent rug?  I didn’t and for years I covered up way more than I had to. Accent rugs should highlight your furnishings and are not meant to carpet your floor! By letting my furnishings rest on just a small portion of the rug the entire look of the room changes in the most amazing ways. Sometimes all it takes is moving things around a bit.

The 2014 Home Fashion Workshop Schedule is as follows:
