Spark The Grilling Season With Johnsonville Sausage

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Johnsonville. The opinions and text are all mine.

Now that “the dark period” of winter is over it’s time to fire up the grill and spark up grilling season with some juicy Johnsonville Brats. Johnsonville is co-sponsoring the 2017 Chicago Polar Plunge with the Special Olympics so frigid festival goers can warm themselves from the inside with the first piping hot Johnsonville Brats of the season. They’ll be cranking out these tasty treats on the 20-foot tall, 65-foot long, Big Taste Grill. This mammoth monstrosity cooks a whopping 2,500 brats an hour on it’s 40 square foot grilling surface. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it.

As an avid griller, this is one of my favorite times of the year. I grill in the colder months but when it warms up, it is so much more enjoyable to be outside. There’s nothing I love more than a meal fresh off the grill. I’m not much into jumping in freezing cold water so I’m glad one of my favorite brands will be there feeding everyone because it’s for a good cause. I’m super stoked to help them get the word out about the Polar Plunge and Johnsonville’s #FirstBrats contest!

The Contest starts today March 8, 2017, and ends midnight ET on May 15, 2017. There are two ways to enter. You can do it online at www.firstbrats.com or on social media. Follow @Johnsonville on Twitter or @jvillesausage on Instagram and post a photo of your first grill of the season using the #FirstBratsContest hashtag and post a comment on Johnsonville’s Facebook page with a photo and the hashtag as well. One lucky grand prize winner will receive snow removal or lawn care for an entire year!

I doubt anyone really needs an excuse to fire up the grill but if you need one this contest is a great reason indeed. Whether it’s unrelenting snowfall or perpetually growing grass that’s got you down, if you win this contest you won’t have to worry about it for an entire year. I’m from Upstate NY so I know a little something about snow. Now I live in Florida and have to cut my grass almost constantly, especially in the summer. Not having to worry about the yard for a while would be a huge help.

Johnsonville isn’t letting the weather get in the way of what they love and neither should you. Fire up that grill, snap those pictures, and enter the contest. You’ll enjoy a great meal, have fun, and possibly win one of the greatest prizes ever and not have to worry about yard work. Just imagine how much more grilling you can do with that kind of free time.
