Sargento “Thin To Win” Weekend Challenge

Today I took the Sargento’s “Thin To Win” Challenge.  It would be great if you could take it withe me, not only could you win a $300 Grocery Gift Card, but you will be organized for the week!  Admittedly I am not a meal planner, so this was truly a challenge for me and since this particular challenge was very hard for me I figured it might also be hard for some of my readers.  If you are anything like me your meal time planning is based on a whim.  When I worked outside of the home I used to stop at the store everyday on the way home and wander the aisles for something to catch my eye for dinner.  Now that I work from home I’m even worse about meal planning.  Meal planning around here has been consisting of whether or not we plan on eating a meal.  I know it’s a horrible habit we have created and this week I’m going to change it.

Not that I’m an expert, but here are some of the things I did this week to prepare for this challenge.  Fortunately I had a great notebook, with a pocket to hold my coupons that corresponded to my meal plan list.  On the first page I broke down what was needed for each mean I wanted to make that week.  On the second page I broke down all the ingredients into categories such as meat, dairy, vegetable, etc.  It made the trip to the store so much easier and much more cost effective because I didn’t buy a bunch of stuff that is going to spoil before I ever use it.  I also received a $25 gift card to a home storage and organization store that I used to buy bins for my fridge.  I put each days food in a corresponding bin so that everyone knew not to use the things that I needed to my meals.

I want to say thank you to Sargento for encouraging me to “thin out” my life!  I think in a week or so I will share one of my favorite recipes featuring Sargento’s Ultra thin Sliced Cheeses to share on Life with Lisa.  In the meantime, join me in the Challenge and check out these delicious recipes at Sargento.com/ultrathin.
