Carpal tunnel syndrome really sucks. About two years ago, I started experiencing a sharp shooting pain in my wrist when I sat at the computer for long periods. It felt like I was getting zapped from my wrist, all the way up to my elbow. The intensity and frequency of this uncomfortable sensation gradually increased until it was accompanied by numbness and tingling.

The pain, numbness, and tingling would wake me up at night. Sometimes I would wake up because my hand was so uncomfortably numb, I would have to shake it to get the feeling back in before I could go back to sleep. Carpal tunnel was making it almost impossible to sleep through the night. I hated it.

In the past seven months, my symptoms have progressed even more. I’ve been experiencing a lot of weakness in my hand. My problems opening and closing my hand are so severe that some days, I can’t even make a fist. When I got to the point that I couldn’t take it anymore, I made an appointment with my primary care physician who gave me a referral to a neurologist.

Although the neurologist was nice, communicated well, and seemed to know what he was doing, I didn’t enjoy my visit all that much. The neurological tests he performed were like a mild form of electric torture. It started off with electrodes being placed at various points along my wrist and forearm and current being passed through my body. The electrodes were then replaced by needles which were inserted into various muscles in my hand. Once the needles were in position, an electric shock was sent through those too. Although necessary, the entire ordeal was extremely uncomfortable.

When it was all said and done, I learned I had carpal tunnel in both wrists. My right wrist was the worst and the doctor recommended surgery. He also recommended sleeping in a wrist splint or brace. He said it might help relieve some of the pain and maybe even help me get some sleep too. Anxious for relief of any kind, I decided to give it a try. What do you know? He was right. Wearing a wrist splint does help.

If you are a carpal tunnel sufferer like me or have a wrist injury, vivehealth.com has the perfect wrist brace. Vive® Universal Wrist Braces are well priced ($14.99 with free 2-day shipping), universally sized, lightweight, available for both hands, and are very comfortable. I’ve been wearing one on my right wrist for several weeks and like it a lot better than the one I had before it.

My previous wrist brace was a bit bulkier and made of thicker material. Although it helped, my hand would get really hot at night and even sweat. I didn’t like that. Vive’s wrist brace has a much lower profile and is made of breathable neoprene which keeps my wrist a lot cooler. When I’m wearing it, I sleep much better than before.

Vive’s wrist braces are machine washable, have a removable splint, and are made extremely well. The fastening material is awesome!  Vive guarantees this product to be free from manufacturing defects and will exchange or replace defective products for up to 60 days after purchase, as long as the products haven’t been misused or abused.

I love my Vive® Universal Wrist Brace! It’s very comfortable and stays on no matter how hard I toss and turn. Attaching it is easy. You can stick the Velcro straps anywhere on the neoprene. Not having to attach to a certain spot ensures the best possible fit. You never have to live with it being too loose or too tight. If you are a carpal tunnel sufferer like me or are experiencing wrist pain caused by injury, tendonitis, arthritis, or whatever the case may be, Vive can really help.
