When Life Happens, Weight Loss Does Not

Not sure why whenever I get busy with a big project I forget about my promises I have made to myself.  Isn’t that the way these things go?  Is it really that difficult to drink 64 oz of water a day?  Apparently so.  What about the treadmill deal I made?  Well, I got on it this morning.  I got on it to move some boxes of swag I need to get ready for an event I’m planning.

It’s just sad.  If I can’t take care of myself how will I take care of my family, my business, my blog?  Doh!  I know the right answers.

Anyway, enough of that reflection crap.

I’m aiming to have my schedule freed up from this huge project I’m working on by the 18th.  I’m going to try to get in as much healthy changes before that time, but I’m not going to set myself up for failure by writing checks I cannot cash.  I’m going to stay focused on the water thing.  I am still not drinking colas, but I am drinking sweet tea – not exactly the healthy choice.  So, water it is with a 2 cup allowance for tea.  Exercise?  I’ll be proud of myself if I can do it twice a week right now so I am going to really push at least getting one good work out in this week.

I should mow the lawn.

Anyway, being busy shouldn’t be an excuse…

Love you Mamavation Sistas!  I’m here…really, I am.

(I have not weighed in but I am going to guess I am about 207 – 208 right now – I’ll tell you for sure next week.)

  1. I think when life gets crazy, focus on your food. Just use portion control and put on that pedometer. You know the drill. The trick is to find things you can do when you are busy and maintain them at a minimum. With the sweet tea, can you use splenda instead? I know it’s a chemical, but it’s better for weight loss than sugar. XXOO

    And thanks for posting girl!

  2. Glad to see ya, Lisa! Sweet tea is a big temptation for me in the summer, too. Dr. Renna told me I could drink as much hot tea as I wanted, but that’s just not the same sometimes. I’m glad we’re doing this again! c-:

  3. Ha! Are we the same person this week? I had the SAME problem — real life interrupted all of my healthy living goals.

    Sigh.

  4. Yes real life can get in the way sometimes but we have to push forward and remember this is something we need to do for ourselves for a change. Its time we take care of ourselves. We are here to help you Lisa!

  5. Lisa, try setting small goals to conquer. Before long, you will have reached a major milestone. If you don’t like water, try adding a splash of juice to it or mint for example.

  6. Just remember, any healthy eating is better than eating complete junk food. And even just one workout is better than none! My advice is if you’re only going to do one or two workouts, make those workouts as meaningful as possible. Don’t cheat, and don’t just go through the motions until time is up.

  7. There are these little packets called True Lemon or something like that. They make the water taste perfectly lemony. Not too strong. Also, what about Truvia in your sweet tea? I feel you on being busy… life gets in the way sometimes. Just got to stay focused even thought that is hard to do at times.

  8. Hang in there! We all have experienced life getting in our way. Just try and focus on the end result and that we need to do this for ourselves. Maybe focus on 2 small things instead of trying to get them all done at one time.

  9. LISA!!! Get done with that crazy project and get your butt in gear. Glad you know yourself so well. Do what you can while you are super busy, work on that water for now and get your rest. I expect to read about you moving a lot more in about 10 days.

  10. You are maoking the most important step. Admitting where things have gone wrong and taking steps to change them. Even baby steps count. Do as you can and focus on making the small steps that make a difference.

  11. Lisa you know the drill…back to basics baby. Reflection is key and you have all the tools to get it done. We all have challenging times but how you get back on track is key! I know you can do it!! XXOO
