We #SpreadCheer With Betty Crocker Cookies For Christmas

We #SpreadCheer With Betty Crocker Cookies For Christmas this year at The Samples household. But I wanted to make sure our cookies for Christmas involved holiday giving because that’s what Christmas is all about and sharing that with the kids is important. Baking Christmas cookies has always been a fond memory for me as the season begins and this year we decided to spread cheer with easy holiday treats thanks to Betty Crocker cookies. One of the reasons we never seem to get around to baking with James is because it’s just not as much fun by yourself, so this year we invited his friend Eno over to help us in the kitchen. We choose three different cookie mixes and made four different cookie combinations.

We found all three Betty Crocker Cookies pouches at our local Walmart and these are the flavors we decided to make:

  • Betty Crocker, Sugar Cookie Mix, 1lb, 1.5oz pouch
  • Betty Crocker, Peanut Butter Cookie Mix, 1lb, 1.5oz pouch
  • Betty Crocker, Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix, 1lb 1.5oz pouch

With the Peanut Butter Cookie Mix we split the dough in half and did one half original and the other with those huge chocolate kisses in the middle.  The kids loved decorating the sugar cookies with all the fun sprinkles and cinnamon hotties we found at the store. We had all decided that once we finished making all the cookies we were going to put them on a tray and surprise a local neighbor who has had a tough year this year as our way to help #SpreadCheer in our neighborhood.

It was so much fun baking Christmas cookies with the kids. We got to use the time to have fun, laugh, and talk about the meaning of Christmas for each of us. One thing we all agreed on is that giving to others and making others smile was one of the best gifts we could give. Granted getting presents is awesome as a kid, but I want my son and his friends know that is isn’t always about ourselves. When times are tough and we don’t feel like we have a lot to smile about is the time when we need to be there for each other and one way we can do that now is to share our cheer with our neighbor who needs it right now.

So we all baked for the day and visited the #SpreadCheer With Betty Crocker to get the printable #SpreadCheer gift tags for our cookies. We put all our cookies on a tray, wrapped it in cellophane and wrapped some ribbon and silver garland around it with our tag and headed to the neighbor’s house.  Oh, and the kitty came too.
