Visit Tuckaway Shores Resort on Florida’s Space Coast

Summer is over and as promised we got to escape for a bit and experience Tuckaway Shores Resort in Indialantic, FL. In my previous post I told you a bit about the resort, but I was only going off of what I was told so I didn’t really share too much about the resort itself. Now, however, I have so much to say that I had to break it into pieces. My earlier post tells a bit about our experience at Kennedy Space Center and the gorgeous views we had while staying at the resort. This post will feature the resort itself and it’s amenities.

Let’s start with the charm of the front office. You know you are at home when you walk in the door greeted by the warm Southern hospitality. This isn’t your normal big chain hotel and there are some subtle difference that win your heart over from the git-go. Yes, at Tuckaway Shores Resort you still get a room key that you actually have to put in the door to unlock it.  There are a lot of small things they do such as prep the kindling for your grilling, wash your towels, and stock your room whenever you need something. They also make a nice hot cup of coffee every morning for those of you who forget to bring some from home.

Our room was on the first floor with access outside of the pool area and off the kitchenette we had another access to the beach with an amazing view.  Our room hosted a Queen bed with a pull-out queen sofa sleeper. The furnishing were shabby chic and the decor was beach themed.  I loved a lot of the little things they did with the room including the cubbies near the sink for each person’s hygiene products.  There were two large closets off the bedroom  and one of them housed our own personal beach chairs and umbrella.

The kitchenette had nearly everything you could need including two hot plates, microwave, toaster oven, fridge with freezer, plate settings, utensils, and pots and pans. There wasn’t anything we weren’t able to make during our stay and if there was anything missing I have a sneaking suspicion I could have called the office and they would have found it for me in no time. We made dinner twice using the outdoor grill and Big Green Egg. At night there was usually a wait for the Big Green Egg, but everyone was really nice and made sure to keep it going for the next users.

One of my favorite things about Tuckaway Shores Resort was the pool. It was so wonderful to end my evenings in the soothing water playing with James. There are floats, basketball, and other toys and pool things to use…all complimentary. There is also a fish cleaning station located out behind the grilling area (we didn’t use it) and a great building with large screen TV and books if you need to escape (I spent some time in there, it was awesome to hide for a while).

This is the place you want to come for your annual family reunion. We met several different families during the course of our stay that come every year and some locals who try to come at least once a month. I can definitely understand why.

I miss it already.

I have Tuckaway on my mind.

  1. Looks like it was a great getaway. I love that you had a kitchen area and even use of a grill to make some meals.

  2. The Tuckaway Shores Resort looks like a home away from home. The place is pretty and the views are amazing. I like to stay in places like this because it’s comfortable and I love that I can cook. Not that I love to cook during vacations, but it helps us save money. Eating out three times a day can be very costly.

  3. Looks like a fantastic, cozy beach place. I love beach getaways, so this would suit me just fine.

  4. I am headed to Florida for 2 months next year. I have been looking for a great place to stay.

  5. This is so beuatiful. I absolutely love when a resort has that feeling of home. It makes it so much easier to relax and settle in. The kitchenette would be a major selling point for me since when we travel our biggest way to save money with 6 Kiddies is to eat in as much as possible.

  6. What a cozy home away from home! It looks like they thought of everything to make it perfect!

  7. This place is too cute! I totally want to own a house near the beach and I want it to look just like that.

  8. Wow, I sure wish I was there right now! Hubby gets the last week of September this year. I can hardly wait. It’s been 3 yrs. since we’ve been on a vacation due to my back problems & he was laid off last year for 11 months 🙁 , but we’re almost back where we were prior… woo hoo!!!!

  9. What a lovely and relaxing looking resort this is, I am loving the decor and that you got a chance to use the grill.

  10. I want to go to a resort so badly. I’ve lived in a resort town my entire life and the tourists are so annoying. It’s my turn to annoy the locals!

  11. What a great and fun place to relax and unwind. When traveling we love staying at resorts like this since they feel more like home.

  12. What a great place for families. My husband would be in heaven that close to the Kennedy Space Center,.
