Universal Studio’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort: Minions & More! #CabanaBayResort

Disclosure: We were treated to a media event that included a 2-night stay at Cabana Bay Beach Resort.  We were asked to share our honest opinions in a post in return.

Before you even pull in the parking lot at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort you feel like you are driving right into the 50s or 60s. Cabana Bay is a moderately priced, modern retro-themed resort right around the corner from Universal Studios. There are lots of outdoor and indoor activities to choose from with everything from cornhole to table tennis. With two huge pools, a lazy river, and a full size bowling alley upstairs you are sure to have a great time!

You never know who might run into in the bowling alley… We just so happened to run across a few minions!

There are lots of good eats on site as well with a wide variety of foods ranging from tuna casserole to pizza. The mac and cheese is some of the best on the planet! The tuna casserole is amazing as well.

While you dine you are treated to vintage television commercials that are sure to entertain. Old cereal commercials and TV show clips from days gone by show our kids just where we came from and how lucky they are to have all this technology they sometimes take for granted! It is nostalgic and somehow watching those old ads makes you feel like a kid all over again.  Nice job Cabana Bay!

The décor, service, and quality of experience is sure to make for an unforgettable adventure for the whole family! Cabana Bay Resort put a lot of effort into giving this place a 50s/60s look and feel.  My wife loved the bedding and throw pillows.  Our three day stay was just what we needed to recharge our batteries and reconnect with one another as a family.

For those of you looking for a little night life, Universal City Walk is just minutes away and shuttle service is available throughout the day and into the night! Not only does transportation go to City Walk, but it goes to many other places as well and the buses are very cool looking. If you get a chance to see a bus from the overpass at City Walk you will notice they have a surf board on top!

Guests heading over to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter enjoy early park admission which means you get in ONE HOUR before the theme park opens. Getting to the park early is critical if you want to ride some of the most popular rides and this is reason alone to stay at this resort.  Remember, this is vacation so don’t be in a hurry because check in/checkout may take some time and lines can be quite long, but for the price it’s worth the wait.  Otherwise I recommend coming earlier in the day to beat the rush and spend the day out at the pool because they will hold your luggage for you until your room is ready.

When I went to check out the price of this hotel I was super shocked….any guesses?
