The Force is with Us: Family Game Time with Star Wars

We already got all our tickets for the upcoming STAR WARS movie, so what better way to get into the mood than to spend some time with the young Jedis enjoying some of the new STAR WARS themed games by Hasbro? There is no better way for a father and his young Jedi to train bond then through enjoying STAR WARS. It was a classic film I was brought up on and that really had an impact on my life. Granted the original STAR WARS came out 2 years before I was born, the two sequels that followed however came out before I was 5, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. I can’t think of a single one of my friends growing up who wasn’t either Luke Skywalker, a Stormtrooper, or Darth Vader at some point in their life. I dressed up as Darth Maul myself and my youngest son has his Darth Vader mask on his bookcase.

I feel the Force is strong in my young Jedi. He has a knack for gaming, whether it’s video, board games, or interactive games like the new Hasbro STAR WARS collection.

Since December 18th is only a month away we have been having fun with the new release of the Hasbro games with the STAR WARS theme. Our favorite to date is STAR WARS LOOPIN’ CHEWIE Game but we are a bunch of guys and sometimes it can get a bit intense. Poor Lisa has to remind us to chill when our competitiveness hits ear piercing limits. However, when we break out the BOP IT! STAR WARS R2-D2 Edition Game I think she is the loudest of us all. She also happens to be the best one at the Electronic Catch Phrase: STAR WARS Edition Game, but don’t tell her I told you.

BOP IT! STAR WARS R2-D2 Edition Game

As part of a young JEDI training you will be tasked with memorizing moves and following directions. Based on the classic BOP IT! game you will twist, bop, and pull the R2-D2 figure from a galaxy far, far away while getting direction from your favorites R2-D2 and C-3PO.
