Stretching Tips for Desk Job Workers

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of American Osteopathic Association for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

As a blogger and social media consulting I spend at least 8 to 10 hours a day at my desk.  Working from home does have it’s advantages, but sitting for long periods of time behind a desk is not one of them.  As I get older the longer I sit the more tense I get and the more my chronic pain flares up.

I am not alone.  Did you know that more than 100 million Americans live in pain? A new survey from the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) found that more than 70 percent of office workers spend 5+ hours sitting at their desks each day. With so many people sitting all day it’s no wonder why so many people have health problems.  I’ve recently set up some tools to help me remember that I need to move around and do something about my lack of movement during the day.

If you are looking to Break Through Your Pain you can try some of these simple exercised recommended by Rob Danoff, DO, an AOA board-certified family physician.  He show you how to position yourself at your desk to eliminate unnecessary strain on your body while at work.

I encourage you to take a few minutes out of your day to incorporate these quick and easy stretching exercises into your schedule.  Be sure to share the tips via your social networks and share them with your friends.  I found them quick and easy to incorporate into my day.

You’ll be amazed at how well they work!
