We Rocked the Universe!

September 12th 2014, we were given the opportunity to attend day two of Florida’s biggest Christian music festival, Rock the Universe at Universal Studios in Orlando. We had never been to a Christian concert like this before and being of more traditional mindsets when it comes to Christian music and worship, didn’t really know what to expect or if it would even “feel Christian” – if you know what I mean. Nonetheless, we HAD to at least give it a chance, despite our reservations.

By opening our minds and hearts we learned that through all these different genres of music, Christian artists are able to reach a wider audience than ever before. Not everyone has to like the same music to love Jesus! We are thankful to have been given the opportunity to experience this first hand!

We were amazed at how many young people were in attendance. It is our youth that hold the future of Christianity and based on the turnout, the future looks bright! It’s easy as a new Christian to feel alone in the world. This event reassured us that we are indeed not alone in our faith and are hopeful for the future.

The wait times were surprisingly short for the rides as most were under 45 minutes. We didn’t expect the kids to be able to ride very many, but they ended up riding almost everything in the park! They rode Shrek, Transformers, Men in Black, and both Simpson’s rides and had a blast!

For lunch, the whole family enjoyed plump and delicious burgers and crispy fries from Mel’s Drive-In. For dinner we slurped Split Pea and Potato Leek Soups at Finnegan’s Bar & Grill over a couple of root beers. We highly recommend the Onion Potato Straws as an appetizer as they were amazing! Dinner for the kids was at Universal Studios’ Classic Monsters Café where they scarfed down salads and pizza in record time!

Valet parking was a bit expensive and it took a little longer than expected to have our vehicle returned (maybe it was due to the weather) but overall we were completely satisfied with our experience. A storm just so happened to roll in shortly after we passed through the gates which we weren’t expecting but Universal Studios was prepared with ponchos that were readily available for purchase at all of the gift shops!

Rock the Universe was a complete success and an event we will look forward to in the future!
