Publishers Clearing House: The Give Back Event #Charity

PCH GiveBack

I’m a big fan of charity and believe that social responsibility is an obligation for Corporate America. I even have an entire category on my blog devoted to social responsibility/charity topics.  I do not have a favorite organization, but I have many that I support.  You might not know it but Publishers Clearing House (PCH) is an organization that believes in giving back as well.  Not only do they believe in giving back, but they believe in letting YOU have a say of WHO to give to with their “The Give Back Event” on Facebook!

The Give Back Event

I’m not a fan of vote solicitation and online voting, but this is a nice spin on online voting because everyone is a winner.  All you have to do is visit the brands Facebook page and vote between three charities:

  1. The ASPCA
  2. St. Judes
  3. USO

The charity with the most votes at the end of the voting period (4 weeks) gets $50,000, but the second place charity still receives $35,000 and the third place charity gets $25,000!

But that’s not all…

In the spirit of PCH you could walk away being a winner as well! . Each vote for a charity is an entry into both a SuperPrize® and the Give Back Exclusive Prize, in which three $5,000 prizes will be awarded.

So which charity did I vote for? St. Judes of course.  We have a long working relationship and the things that St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital do for the kids just touches my heart, like the annual Thanks and Giving Campaign.

Publishers Clearing House Ongoing Charitable Efforts

Through the generosity of the founders of Publishers Clearing House — Harold and LuEsther Mertz, who are now deceased — over 40% of PCH’s profits go to trusts for the benefit of charities that support the arts, human rights, the environment, medical research, education and other worthy causes.

The New York Botanical Garden, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the National Audubon Society and the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Association are just a few of the major beneficiaries of PCH’s 60 years of success.  Other charities that benefit from Publishers Clearing House funding include The New York Shakespeare Festival, The Macula Foundation, Swarthmore College, Stanford University, Saint Francis Hospital, the Central Park Conservancy, Phoenix House Foundation and the Educational Broadcasting Corporation (public television).

Publishers Clearing House is hosting the 3rd annual Give Back charity event! This year fans can vote for St Jude Childrens Research Hospital, The ASPCA, or the USO to receive a combined $100,000 in charitable donations! Plus three lucky voters will win $5000 from Publishers Clearing House!
