I am pretty neat, but I’m not really that organized.  The new book, Pretty Neat: The Buttoned-Up Way to Get Organized and Let Go of Perfection, has been pretty helpful to me this past week.  My goal is to get more organized before spring officially gets here.  I want to get organized before the weather makes me too lazy to work around the house.  Isn’t that everyone’s dream?
I think one of my biggest challenges is my hoarding behavior when it comes to paper/mail/magazines. Â I still have every year’s tax return dating back to the early 1980s. Â Why? Â I have no idea. Â I saved every single written assignment and paper I wrote in college. Â I have every report from Ethan’s daycare provider and he is 17 years old!
Alicia Rockmore and Sarah Welch cover a couple chapters worth of things that really hit home with me and my online life too. Â Guess how many unread emails I have in my inbox? Â Did you guess 11,309? Â I’m sure you didn’t. Â Chapter 11 – Tame Your Inbox is going to be a very important chapter for me. Â When going through my email I need to keep Chapter 4 – Learn to Just Say No in mind. Â Why is it that I say yes to everyone? Â Seriously, I really don’t need to review the new colored maxi-pads. Â I need to get a grip.
Are you as unorganized as I am?
The Giveaway: Â One winner will win their copy of Pretty Neat. Â Additionally, one winner whose information is reported by the above deadline will be chosen at random from across all blogs to receive a $200 gift card (same as cash such as Visa or AmEx) plus a selection of Buttoned Up products (ARV: $50) to be used towards her own reasonable organizational goals for her life.

My biggest organizational challenge is my kitchen. My fiance and I just bought our first home and our kitchen is super small. We plan to remodel it eventually but we’re about to get married in April and have to buy a new roof and some windows. The kitchen has no storage and it’s very hard to fit everything and keep things organized. I definitely have to get creative!

the biggest organizational challenge I have is the kids toys. They get so much that no matter how many we get rid of there is still a ton and all our bins and totes can’t hold it all.

That would have to be my dining table. It’s where all of the school papers and homework goes. It’s a total mess. I’d love a way to organize it all!

I have 21,436 emails in my inbox. NOT KIDDING. Every time I start to delete or archive stuff, it takes me ALL day.
Anyway, the thing I need organized the most in my life is my house. ALL OF IT. We have an 804 sq. ft. house with closets made for skinny midgets. There is just no room for our things and so they are everywhere. Plus we have The Diva and all her stuff. We really need a bigger house, but I will settle for organizing this one.
My biggest challenge is my closet. Because I only have 1 closet I have to take everything out to get to anything in it.

My biggest organizational challenge is getting rid of clothes I haven’t worn in years and have no intention of ever wearing. Have you heard the phrase “too good to throw away”? That’s me….

I have been getting your email updates for a while now, Lisa. 🙂
my closet! i am unwilling to let go of my clothes in smaller sizes, hoping to get back in those sizes so i just have too many clothes packed in there
My whole house is an organizational challenge, it seems if one area gets organized, the mess spills over to another area. I’m constantly weeding stuff out and donating, and attempting to organize things, but I stil cant find half the things I want when I want them. I could really use an organizing make over.
