Mitsubishi Outlander SE – Great Vehicle for the Family #DriveMitsubishi

This summer right as hubby went into the hospital for all his gastro problems we got to spend a week with a 2015 Misubishi Outlander SE. It was my first experience with the brand and I wasn’t too sure what to expect.  What we got was more than I could have expected. This vehicle handled like a medium sized vehicle, but it carried enough cargo to be considered a full size SUV.  Fortunately before James went into the hospital we got to take it over to IKEA for a shopping spree. James had totaled his pickup truck the week before and we had a bunch of furniture that we needed to pick up that wouldn’t fit into our car. So we threw down the back seats and loaded in our three bookcases, tubs, miscellaneous things, and two cube organizers. Everything fit!

The sticker price for the model I drove was $25,045 and in my opinion it is priced just right. Like I mentioned there is a ton of room on the inside and the outside is compact enough that I didn’t feel overwhelmed like I usually do driving a SUV or pickup. The model I had did not come with a navigation panel, it is an add-on option and one that I wish came standard in all vehicles. I did enjoy the rear camera system and it had a sufficient range that I felt safe when backing out into the road in our neighborhood full of kids. I found the options on the vehicle were just right for the price, but again I would probably have sprung for a navigation system.

Although we didn’t go on a long trip I did drive it everyday back and forth to the hospital which was about 40 minutes from the house. It was a very comfortable ride too and it handled well in traffic on the Turnpike.  I couldn’t find any blind spots that are often a problem in many of today’s SUVs for me. If you are looking for a family vehicle that mom will love but dad doesn’t mind driving without breaking the bank, this vehicle is for you!
