Discover the New Menu at Mimi’s Cafe Orlando

A few days ago Mimi’s Cafe in Orlando treated Lisa and I to a very special evening. Mimi’s is a French inspired restaurant that serves up the most incredible cuisine. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which is unusual for an establishment as nice as this one. The lighting and décor set up the most inviting atmosphere.

For our appetizer we chose Mussels à la Mimi’s and let me tell you the sauce was amazing! Kathryn Sutton (Executive Chef) is a creative genius. How she could take a dish that I have eaten a hundred times and turn it into something so delicious is beyond my understanding. Her crepes and brie taste like something that rained down from the heavens. She’s like the “palate whisperer” or something.

Do you like French Onion Soup? Let me tell you, you haven’t had French Onion Soup until you’ve had Mimi’s.  French Onion Soup has always been one of my favorites but I don’t think I have ever had anything quite like hers. Now don’t take me the wrong way. She in no way is doing anything weird to it at all. Her French Onion Soup just tastes how it should. There is nothing weird added the flavor is unbelievable and that says a lot coming from a soup enthusiast such as myself.

If it were possible to be “strung out” on food Mimi’s Pumpkin Bisque would be my drug of choice. I would shamelessly lock myself in a bathroom and go down on a bucket of Pumpkin Bisque any time!

delicious

For our main course we had Coq au Vin and Brioche Croque Madame and that is what just blew my mind. After virtually polishing the plates with my tongue it was all I could do to stay awake. This may sound a bit far-fetched but just try it for yourself and you will totally get it. Brioche Croque Madame is like the “nookie” of food and once you eat it you just want to take a nap on a bed of All-butter croissants. Which I might add, is baked in house daily.

There are lots of restaurants that have great food but not many that are pass-out-pamphlets good! So get over to Mimi’s and get your feast on!  The new menu items is bringing Mimi’s Cafe back to basics and delighting palates around the country (well, really where ever they are located)!
