Photo Tour and Thumb Wars with the LG G4 Camera and Sprint #SprintMom

Disclosure: I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Influence Central for Sprint. I received a Sprint device to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

Photo Tour

Taking photos is a passion of mine. I probably have close to 100,000 on my computer downloaded from my cameras and smartphones. No matter where we go, what we are doing, or who we are with our family captures it with images. It isn’t unusual to see our car pulled over on the side of the road capturing the horse in the field, the eagle on the lamp post or the man on the side of the road holding a sign. We are a family who thrives on catching our lives on film. Some of the best photos we get are in the car, but NEVER, ever when you are the driver. Having a son who is 22 I can’t help but preach this rule. No texting, no photos from behind the wheel. Sprint even makes an app to help parents instill this with their teens.  The Sprint Drive First app (see below for more info).

The LG G4 on the Sprint network has got a phenomenal camera!  I love all the great things it can do and even on “Auto” the photos are amazing. From food to people, the camera features 24 megapixels with a 16MP rear facing camera and an 8MP front facing selfie camera (with an auto “beauty” slider on the bottom of your screen).  I love the options you have with this camera in manual mode too.  I shot some baby piglets this weekend that really show how good the quality of the LG G4 camera really are. The photo below is straight out of the camera, unedited. What do you think?

Are you a foodie who loves to show off your culinary prowness? This camera captures color like no other with it’s  Color Spectrum Sensor that helps to achieve more accurate color and reproduction with improved white balance.  Again, no editing.

But the camera holds it’s own with people too both indoors and outdoors.

The LG G4 has been a great phone so far and I’ve really liked the Sprint network. It’s my first time as a Sprint user and I have not been disappointed.  If you  are looking for an affordable family phone with all the bells and whistles and a GREAT camera, the LG G4 is the answer.

With Sprint Lease, the device is $18 per month for 24 months and with a Sprint Family Share Pack plan, a family of 4 can share 20GB of data and get unlimited talk and text for only $100 per month.

The FREE app is available on the phones like the Sprint LG G4 that I’m currently using to take incredible photos.  The app sends calls to voicemail and silences email and text alerts whenever your teen driver reaches 10mph! There are updated features as well such as ‘personal feedback’ and ‘parenting mode’ that tracks miles driven and allows you to lock or enable certain apps.  It’s a great resource for parents so that they can worry less.  Another great initiative is the Thumb Wars campaign.

Our way to say no to driving and texting? Thumb Wars of course.

40% of American teens still report texting and driving behavior.  That’s just too many!  I’ve seen people texting and driving attempting to drive.  When I’m behind them it’s hard to tell at first if they are texting or if they are drunk as they never maintain their lane. It’s no wonder drivers who text are 23 times more likely to get involved in a crash.  Sprint has teamed up with one of the largest organizations for young people and social change, DoSomething.org to rally against texting and driving with the Thumb Wars campaign.

How It Works:

  • Young people sign up at the Thumb Wars Website and receive two pairs of yellow anti-texting thumb socks.

  • Then, they pick a friend or loved one they know who texts and drives and share the socks with them in a surprising way.

  • They snap a pic of themselves and their friend wearing the thumb socks and send it back to DoSomething.org

  • Young people can also share important texting-and-driving stats to educate their friends.
