Holiday Cheese Ball Recipe

The holidays are quickly approaching and it’s time to start digging out those recipes. For our family we try to find those recipes that are easy, quick, and delicious. We are BIG into appetizers when it comes to holiday entertaining because there is nothing worse for the kitchen crew then to have everyone asking when will dinner be ready. One of our family favorites is our Holiday Cheese Ball Recipe featuring Sargento Shredded Cheese, the Off the Block Shredded Cheddar fine cut to be exact.

Why this particular cheese? Other than the fact that it taste great and is a nice contrast to the cream cheese, it’s fine cut and blends well with the other ingredients. The Sargento® Fine Cut Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese is also perfect when you want a quick-melting, but the Aged Cheddar as I mentioned has just the right amount of bite for this particular recipe! It’s also ideally suited for traditional recipes such as Cheddar cheese soup, omelets and cheesy bread.

Holiday Cheese Ball Recipe

Ingredients

2 – 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese (room temperature)

2 cups Sargento® Fine Cut Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic salt

1/8 teaspoon of cayenne pepper

2 Tbsp. chopped onion

1 Tbsp. chopped pimento

1 cup chopped pecans

Mix all together (except nuts) in a well-formed ball (or divide into 2 smaller balls – eat 1 now and freeze 1 for later) and roll in chopped nuts. If mixture does not hold round shape enough to roll in chopped nuts refrigerate for 20 minutes and try again.
