One of my favorite aspects of living the blog life is all the time I have to volunteer myself. I get a tremendous amount of personal satisfaction from helping people and it’s the blog that facilitates most of our charitable works. For me Life with Lisa is a life of service and for that I am most thankful.
Recently, I was invited to enjoy a day on the lake with Heroes on the Water – Central Florida Chapter.
This organization serves our Nations Warriors by providing opportunities for them and their families to enjoy kayak fishing free of charge.
Having personally experienced the healing power that comes from immersing ones self in nature, this nonprofit is one that resonates deep within my heart and soul. Words can’t express my gratitude for all the men and women who answered the call to serve our great Nation. I humbly pray this article serves as a call to action. That through my words you are motivated to help the men and women who risked all so that we could be free.
There is no greater love than to lay one’s life down for another. Each one of these veterans offered themselves mind, body, and soul to our service. Each of them offered their lives to something greater than themselves.
Most of us will never know what it was like to stand in harm’s way and risk our lives for another. For these men and women I am eternally grateful.
If by typing a few words and snapping a few pics I can help just one experience peace and tranquility then I did what I set out to do.
As Americans we each owe a debt to the men and women who paid for our Freedom. All sacrificed some, some sacrificed all.
Each and every veteran made an investment on our behalf. Each made an investment of life.
Are you willing to pay it back? Can you? Are you at least willing to offer the gift of peace and happiness to Americas finest? By donating to Heroes on the Water you will be helping our service men and women enjoy more fully the waters they paid for with blood, sweat, and tears.
Some carry wounds you can’t see. Help heal those wounds by showing that you care. Love is a verb. We too often take their sacrifice for granted. With every drop of water that rolls off the paddle of a veteran is a chance to heal.
Will you answer the call to action?
Will you donate to a worthy cause?
