One of my favorite things Father Kent talks about in church is how we are all going to the same place, it’s just how we get there that’s different. I love our church family we found when we moved to Florida. Our job does require that we travel on occasion and when we do we normally try to find a church of the same denomination, but occasionally we find a local contemporary church near where we are staying and have to check it out. Last summer while in West Palm Beach we visited a contemporary church in Palm Beach Gardens. It was definitely a different vehicle, but the messages were the same and like Father Kent mentioned, we were all going to the same place.
One of the reasons I loved our church was because they very welcoming and not judgmental. That was important to me. I got a bad taste for organized religion when I visited a church in Georgia a few times with one of my husband’s ex-coworkers. Every time we got together they spent more time worrying about what the other denominations were doing then they did with what they were doing. I want to get it out there now. I don’t care what religion you are, nor do I care if you believe in God, Allah, or whoever. You are a human being and I respect you as a living creature. Aren’t we supposed to try and love everyone?
I try not to bring too much religion onto my blog because I know I have readers who don’t have the same beliefs I have and I respect that is your choice. However, every once in a while I can’t help but post something that touches me, after all it is my blog, right?
