Getting Strange at Hellmann’s Strangewich Challenge

When it comes to sandwiches, I’ve always been a little strange. Whether it’s Peanut butter, pickle, and mayonnaise or unusual combinations of veggies and seafood, weirding people out with my creations is what I do. Until Hellmann’s Strangewich challenge, I thought I was alone in the world.  Attending the Let them Eat Strange Pre-Daytona event was a lot of fun and showed me I’m not weirdest sandwich eater in the world. There are some out there much weirder than me. Especially my husband. To prove my point, one day on the way to an event we stopped at a gas station so he could grab a bite to eat. He came out with this concoction:

Salami, cheese, roast pork, with various chips on top.

Many of the Strangewich ingredients sounded delicious to me. The event inspired several new ideas. I enjoyed listening to them all and interacting at the booths. Most of all I enjoyed my VIP experience with Dale Earnhardt Jr which included getting items signed by Dale Jr and even more so, attending the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona. The Strangewich challenge was fun and the race was a blast. Friday the 24^th was a great day!

Watching the race was awesome. Crowds were light so we kind of felt like we had the place to ourselves. After grabbing a cold beer and a pretzel we settled down into our seats and the action begun. Right off the bat, there were crashes and incredible maneuvering as drivers jockeyed for position. Those trucks sure are fast! We had an amazing evening and memorable date night. I wish we could do this every weekend!

Every time I eat a Strangewich, I will remember my experience at the Hellmann’s Strangewich Challenge and Nascar. I used to eat my peanut butter, pickle, and Hellmann’s sandwiches with my grandma. She’s gone now, but I’m sure she’s with me every time I have one. She was probably up there watching the race too.

Next time you have a hankering for a sandwich don’t be afraid to be weird. Don’t worry about what other people think. It’s your sandwich and you can eat it however you want. Grab some Hellmann’s and up your sandwich game. You can mix it with just about anything. When it comes to mayo there’s only one way to go and that’s Hellmann’s.
