Earlier this month I wrote a post about living in Florida and how Mayfield Creamery Ice Cream was always in season from Publix Supermarkets. As the holidays grow closer and all my Northern friends are drinking their delicious Hot Chocolate and enjoying the warmth emitted from their toasty mugs, we are here in Florida enjoying our ice cold FROZEN Hot Chocolate, featuring Mayfield Creamery Vanilla Ice Cream. I first experienced a Frozen Hot Chocolate when I went to NYC in 2010 and visited Serendipity, made famous by the movie of the same name. It was heaven. When I returned home I made my own version and today I’m going to share it with you.
- 3/4 cup milk (we use Almond Milk)
- 3 T. hot cocoa mix (or 1 packet of your favorite hot cocoa)
- 3 scoops of Mayfield Creamery Vanilla Ice Cream
- Gingerbread Men
- Peppermint Sticks
- Chocolate Syrup
- Add milk, cocoa mix, and ice cream to your blender and blend. We use a NINJA blender that has a pre-set for Frozen Drink.
- Top with your favorite garnish and drizzle with chocolate syrup.
I have to admit, living in Florida around the holidays makes it difficult to get into the spirit of things sometimes, but when you put a twist on some of the holiday classics like hot chocolate it makes it much easier. We also make a great Peppermint Twist Milkshake with the Mayfield Creamery Ice Cream, Snow Cream and peppermint extract. It is one of my families favorite!

My husband would love this. I think I will make it for him minus the peppermint as he really doesn’t care for that but he loves everything else in it. Maybe for Thanksgiving as an after dinner treat.
