Growing up, Fall was my favorite season. I loved going on family car rides too look at all the leaves changing color. I especially loved when we happened upon farmer’s markets in little towns off the beaten path. Today I share this tradition with my son and we love finding small farmers markets and fall festivals around Florida. As a matter of fact we went to our local farmers market today, the Osceola County Grown Farmers Market.
Every year we visit this one particular farmers market because there is a guy who comes and sells corn on the cob out of the back of his pick up truck with his kids. It is the best corn on the cob I have ever had and it’s so good you can truly eat it right off the cob without cooking it. I can promise you, no matter how far you drive, it’s worth it. His prices can’t be beat either – 6 ears of corn for $2!
On this trip we picked up some of Preston’s Plum Perfect Pickles for $4 as well. They were sweet and garlicky and I’ll definitely be buying more of these before the season ends! We also visited Brent Dickson’s Honey B Good, local raw honey stand to try his honey ($8 jar). I have to admit, it is the best honey I’ve had in a while. Maybe it’s because he has treatment-free bees and uses no pesticides? Whatever it is, I hope he will be back there next week! You can reach him at Brent.HoneyBGood@gmail.com or give him a call (407) 791-0027. Tell him Lisa from Life with Lisa sent ya!
We also spent some time sampling Angel’s Secret Hot Sauce from Angel Diaz. I found a couple I really liked but we didn’t pick up any this week because I had already bought some guava jelly from a little ole lady earlier. Maybe he’ll let me review a couple jars and I can share some recipes with you another time. Finally we stopped off to see Chef Antonio Albertsz from Aruba. We had missed his food demonstration of his Pumpkin Soup, but we did get to sample it and it was delicious! I’ll be making it later this month to share with you all.
If you ever get to my end of town, come check out our farmers market at 5700 E. Irlo Bronson Hwy, St. Cloud.

We have several fall farmer’s markets in my area. We try to visit a few times a month. They have all sorts of delicious treats. I picked up horseradish jelly last time and it was amazing!
That sounds really yummy. We love horseradish. You are right though, you never know what you will find.
I LOVE going to the farmers market! I feel like their produce is always better, plus I love being able to support our community! When we go to North Carolina, we always pick up the sourwood honey from their farmer’s market.
I remember up North they always had awesome farmer’s markets. Miss it.
I love going to farmer’s markets! I haven’t seen different pickles though and Rich would love that!
We go to our local Sanford Farmers Market every weekend if we are in town.
