Show Your #Underwareness with Depend Silhouette Active Fit Briefs

On my birthday in 2010 I had an Endometrial Ablation that didn’t work and left me in severe pain. It was recommended that I consult with another doctor about the da Vinci method and 3 weeks later I had my hysterectomy. My doctor and his team worked diligently for 10.5 hours separating my uterus from my bladder and abdominal wall. Later, my doctor shared with my husband and I that there was a point in the surgery that he was not sure he would be able to save my bladder and that he almost gave up. Two blood transfusions later I was in recovery and my bladder was intact.

Today I’m so thankful he was able to spare my bladder, however there are side effects from all my surgeries and scarring.  I’m the unlucky one of the 1 in 3 American women who experience urinary incontinence. Over 51 million American women suffer from bladder leakage and I joined their ranks on December 27, 2010. Although the common causes of bladder leakage in women include pregnancy, childbirth and diabetes, mine was caused by Adenomyosis.

Fortunately for those suffering from incontinence there is Depend Silhouette Active Fit. CVS Health has teamed up with Depend to help support women like me who experience bladder leakage as we navigate our way to better health. Unfortunately there are a lot of drawbacks when it comes to staying fit and healthy that we have to worry about and other’s do not.

Do a jumping jack? Tinkle.

Run? Tinkle.

Cough? Tinkle.

Sneeze? HUGE Tinkle.

It’s not easy but thanks to companies like Depend and CVS Health it is tolerable. If you are suffering from urinary incontinence you don’t have to be embarrassed. You are not alone. The Depend Silhouette Active Fit come in both black and nude briefs in a variety of sizes. They are not bulky and cannot be noticed. They feature moderate absorbency with a thin design similar to underwear with a look, fit, and feel that’s comfortable.  You can join the movement and request a free sample of Depend Silhouette Active Fit briefs by simply filling out your address.

Join the #Underawareness movement, now in its second year. Show your support for women with bladder leakage and for every photo and video shared using the hashtag #Underawareness the Depend brand will donate $1, up to $3 million through 2016 to fund charities that advance the research and education of bladder leakage.

Here are some tips that help me:

  • Don’t drink after dinner to lessen the need to urinate during the night.
  • If you are overweight try losing some weight.
  • Get on a regular bathroom schedule.
  • Urinate before exercise.
  • Don’t drink for up to an hour before exercising.
  • Practice doing kegel exercises.

Don’t be shy, join me and show them your #Underwareness!
