Bring Images To Life With Crayola #ColorAlive

Coloring is not only a great way to encourage our kids to be creative and express themselves it can also benefit us old folks. As I have recently re-discovered, coloring can be a great way to relax and de-stress. Before we received our Crayola Color Alive Action Coloring Pages  and downloaded the app I can hardly remember the last time I colored anything. Our youngest has not really been interested in that sort of thing for a while now so it was a real treat to grab some crayons and get down on the floor with him to color, perhaps for the last time (or so I thought). Back in the good old days coloring was fun but nothing like it is today. Our illustrations were confined to the page and we had none of this fancy 4D stuff. As our Mythical Creatures™ and Skylanders™ came to life I couldn’t help but to reminisce on how far we had come. James was really loving how his masterpieces were coming to life with Crayola Color Alive.  He immediately grabbed the Skylanders™ book and started working on his dragon. As I revisited my youth in the Mythical Creatures™ book, Lisa immersed herself in Barbie™ and the Enchanted Garden™.

We had hours of fun coloring pictures and taking screenshots of our 4D images. Although we had a lot of things going on, grabbing some crayons and getting down on the floor with our youngest was one of the highlights of our weekend. We all thought the Color Alive app was very easy to use (available for Android, iOS, and Windows devices). All you have to do is point the camera of your phone or other device at the image and you can bring it to life at the touch of a button. One of our favorite features was being able to save the image and open it later without the page. With this feature James was able to open his creature up throughout the house and bring his virtual pet dragon with him everywhere!

  1. This is SOOOO cool. I know the frog princess will love it. And even if she doesn’t, I know I will. I hadn’t seen this before. Thanks for sharing, Lisa!

    • I saw it in CVS or Walgreens once but didn’t really “get” what it does. I’m so glad I did it because even James’ (who is now 11) thought it was the coolest thing!

  2. Mary Ambrosino says

    It looks so cool.

  3. I saw this at the store the other day and had no idea what it was. This is SO cool! Now I need to go back and get it!
