CES 2015 Las Vegas Microsoft Lumia Style

Our events we attend aren’t always #PoweredByLumia but when they are we make memories we will never forget. This year started off for us at CES 2015 in Las Vegas. Not only was it our first time attending CES, it was also our first time in Vegas. We are thankful Lumia decided to #MakeItHappen for us and for giving us a sweet pair of phones, and for an amazing Vegas experience!

We would also like to give a shout out to BMW  for picking us up at McCarran International Airport in a 2015 BMW i8! Behind the beautiful paint job, sleek body, exquisite interior, and suicide doors, is a powertrain like none other. An electric motor combined with a turbocharged 3 cylinder engine, delivers a whopping 357 horsepower that I actually got to experience from behind the wheel! The BMW i8 handles very well and shifts flawlessly. After flipping the switch to sports mode and opening her up a bit, she sung the most beautiful notes!

After checking in at the Delano Las Vegas and soaking in a spectacular view we were given a pair of Nokia’s finest phones.

I was given the Nokia Lumia 830 and Lisa the Lumia 635 along with fitbits to keep track of our steps while in Las Vegas. On our first night at the miX Lounge atop the Delano Las Vegas, we took our first photos with our new phones!

After cocktails we headed over to Mandalay Bay to watch MJ One by Cirque du Soleil. It was amazing!

In the morning we were let in on a little secret. Apparently there is a place in Las Vegas where you can come face to face with exotic creatures like Bottlenose Dolphins, White Tigers, and White Leopards. At Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat in the Mirage we were surprised with something magical. We were going to paint with dolphins! After collecting our special paint brushes, paints, and canvas we were brought to the water’s edge to get to know our fellow artists. My dolphin’s name was Osborn and he is part Pacific and Atlantic Bottlenose. After a brief introduction and under the guidance of expert trainers we made our paintings.

The dolphins are trained to hold the paint brushes in their mouths and out of the water. All we had to do is hold the canvas and the dolphins did the rest! In the process we learned more than we ever expected about these highly intelligent creatures and made lifelong memories. Words can’t describe how amazing it is to make art with a dolphin!

For lunch we were treated to a Chefs Table Lunch at the Bellagio Buffet. Bellagio’s Executive Chef Edmund Wong pleased our palates with his culinary prowess and captivated our senses with food demonstrations.

Another highlight of our trip was the Vegas Strip Scavenger Hunt #PoweredByLumia. After making our way via taxi to the Vegas Strip we were given challenges to perform with our phones. Our challenges took us through casinos and all over Vegas. The challenges we were given were designed to familiarize us with our new phones and show us the power of Lumia.With each challenge we learned how to use more of Lumia’s features and had a lot of fun in the process. Congratulations to Lisa’s group for winning!

Our Monte Carlo BLVD Plaza Dining Experience consisted of Dinner at Yusho, Coffee at Sambalatte, and Ice Cream at BLVD Creamery.  The evening was a treat for our palates and there was so much food that it was impossible to try everything they brought out to sample, but we definitely tried!  My favorites were the foie gras, the lobster, and the ahi tuna with fried salmon skin.  Lisa loved her caramel sea salt ice cream with shaved chocolate and we both enjoyed learning about the coffee at Sambalatte and seeing how they roast the raw beans.  The plaza is an experience you do not want to miss when in Las Vegas!

We may not have spent a lot of time on the showroom floor for CES 2015, but we had an amazing time. We learned so much about Microsoft Lumia and enjoyed all the discoveries offered from MGM (our gracious co-hosts). We can’t wait to share more about our Lumia’s and what we can do with them in future posts.
