Back to School Shopping at Disney Springs

Disclosure: We were hosted to experience shopping at Disney Springs with a few bonuses thrown in thanks to Cirque du Soleil, Splitsville and Blizzard Beach/Typhoon Lagoon.

Our kids go back-to-school this week in Osceola County, next week for Orange County. Since it’s tax-free weekend here I thought I would share with you where we did our back-to-school shopping this year, at Disney Springs! With over 100 shopping options you can find everything you need in one place and a lot of what they have is so unique your child will be sure to stand out! James is 13 years old and we were able to find some great prices and options on almost all the things he needed. He had a tough time deciding what to purchase as far as shoes are concerned

He had a tough time deciding what to purchase as far as shoes are concerned. He was sure he wanted the nice black Jordans he found at Trophy Room, but when we got to the Under Armour Brand House he decided to get the gray/red shoes instead. When we went to Uniqlo we were both shocked at the prices and found nicely made polos and cargos shorts for school for under $15! The t-shirts were under $10 and we grabbed a few of those as well. With all the clothing needs met we decided to get a back-to-school haircut with the barber at The Art of Shaving. Did you know you could get a haircut at Disney Springs?

This was no normal haircut at The Art of Shaving. Not only did the barber give James same great ideas how to ensure his hair stayed healthy, she evaluated his scalp and recommended he use certain products to help him while his hormones were changing. He thought he had a mild case of dandruff but she let him know it wasn’t that at all and he should stop using dandruff shampoo since his hair was already dry. He really enjoyed the hot, lavender towel wrap while she massaged his scalp and the straight-razor shave of his neck. It was an experience he will never forget. I guess you could compare it to a girls mani/pedi.

After the haircut, we stopped into Sprinkles to grab some cupcakes for later, but unfortunately, I put them down somewhere while we were shopping and when we got back to our room at Disney Beach Club Resort I realized I didn’t have them.

<Insert Tears Here>

After all the shopping we had done we were treated to a lunch at Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming.  At Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming, you can dig into a deliciously delectable lineup of southern flavors. After 25 years of preparing foods for celebrities and heads of state, Chef Art is making Florida his home once again and serving up some of the best-fried chicken in town! I love the Jasper Board appetizer because the pickles are just amazing! It’s a great place to stop and grab a bite when your shopping!

Our final stop to make sure James was prepared to start his last year in Middle School was to get his skin analyzed at Kiehl’s. If you go to Disney Springs you have to go inside to check out their decor. It’s pretty cool and of course, get your skin analyzed. We learned James has dry skin and that using the products I use (I’m oily) he is actually drying his skin out even more. We bought him a cleanser and a good moisturizer to help him through this tough age that isn’t always flattering to young men’s skin.

Here is one of the painted murals from Kiehl’s:

Do you have a daughter you need to shop for? Have no fear there are tons of stores that cater to females! My favorite store for me is Free People and Alex & Ani, but there really is something for all ages. I found a lot of great back-to-school stuff for girls in Lilly Pulitzer and Vera Bradley.

Our shopping stay at Disney was highlighted with some great entertainment including time at Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon, experiencing Cirque du Soleil La Nouba, and dinner/bowling at Splitsville. We really enjoyed our time visiting and shopping Disney Springs and plan on making more frequent trips now that we know how convenient it is!
