Disclosure: Thanks Disney for having my family out to talk about some of the new things going on this summer!
Anytime is a good time to visit Disney but this summer there are all kinds of exciting things going on. With the Grand Opening Summer Celebration at Disney Springs and Chef Art’s Homecoming, Disney is cooking up all sorts of fun and excitement. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios you can enjoy Star Wars A Galactic Spectacular and Star Wars inspired entertainment that will blow your mind and entertain you and your family all day and into the night. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom you can enjoy all sorts of African inspired cuisine at Harambe market, watch Jungle Book come to life with Jungle Book Alive With Magic, and enjoy extended park hours with Magic of Nature After Dark. Be sure to stop by Epcot to ride Frozen Ever After and then go Soarin Around The World while enjoying scenery from around the planet.
At Harambe Market it’s hard to say what I enjoyed more the food or the atmosphere. With all the new food selections choosing what to eat can be difficult but I decided on one of their famous sausages dipped in curry infused corn batter. I washed down this delicious treat with watermelon lemonade and enjoyed looking at all the décor. The area is very brightly colored and filled with lots of detail. From the bicycles on the street corners to dancers and signage, Harambe Market has an authentic African charm.
Now night time at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is even more magical. The Jungle Book Alive With Magic is an epic event with singers, dancers, and impressive visuals. Based on The Jungle Book, this 25-minute show will blow your socks off with amazing special effects. I don’t want to give too much away because you really need to see it for yourself! With the extended park hours, you have more time than ever to enjoy the magic of Nature After Dark. The tree of life awakens throughout the evening as magical fireflies bring animal spirits to life captivating crowds of families. It’s no wonder Disney’s Animal Kingdom is one of my family’s favorite parks.
Disney Springs is a great place to be day or night. With a Grand Opening Celebration happening all season long, there will never be a better time to enjoy all the new dining options and free entertainment. I really love what they did with the place. Disney Springs looks and feels completely new. At one of my new favorite restaurants, you can enjoy the taste of real Florida. At Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming, you can dig into a deliciously delectable lineup of southern flavors. After 25 years of preparing foods for celebrities and heads of state, Chef Art is making Florida his home once again and serving up some of the best fried chicken in town!
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios you can enjoy a nighttime spectacle unlike anything you have ever seen. Star Wars A Galactic Spectacular is loaded with fireworks, lasers, projections, and all sorts of mind-blowing special effects. I have never seen a show like this ever. They brought everything I love about Star Wars to life! At Star Wars Launch Bay, you can enjoy all sorts of intergalactically spectacular treats and meet face to face with your favorite characters.
During the heat of summer, there is no place quite as cool as the New Norway Epcot attraction. At Frozen Ever After you feel like you were transported to the kingdom of Arendelle. You even get to meet Queen Elsa! Riders on the new Soarin Around The World at Epcot can enjoy some of the most iconic scenery on our planet. On the ride, you can enjoy an absolutely thrilling birds eye view of Earths wonders across 6 continents!
With everything Disney has cooking this summer, there has never been a more exciting time to visit. Is there a better way to awaken summer? If there is, I can’t think of one. Whether it’s the hustle and bustle of Harambe Market, the magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom after dark, the exciting new cuisine at Disney Springs, Star Wars A Galactic Spectacular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or the new attractions at Epcot, there are so many new things to enjoy. Nothing can bring your summer to life quite like a trip to Disney!
I have never been to Disney and now I can not wait to see it. Thanks for the insiders observations.
