World-Class Fertility Care Coming to Orlando!

I haven’t really shared my experience with infertility before on my blog, but I assure you that my two boys are miracle babies. Not only have I had over 18 miscarriages, but when I did get pregnant it was a true struggle. I have Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) as well as a tilted uterus which makes getting pregnant difficult. When I did get pregnant my body didn’t produce progesterone which was another issue. If I didn’t get the progesterone suppositories within a few weeks of conception each pregnancy resulted in what is called a missed abortion (though I hate that word). A few years ago I had a hysterectomy and found out that I also suffered from Adenomyosis and Fibroids as well.

I am not alone. There are many women out there who suffer from infertility and chances are you are one of them. In November, Reproductive Medicine Associates of Florida (RMAofFL), the newest practice of the IVI-RMA Global network of fertility clinics will open in Lake Mary, FL. This is HUGE! Now, women in and around Central Florida will have a fighting chance for a successful pregnancy resulting in a precious baby. Headed up by Dr. George Patounakis, this center will be part of the flagship location in New Jersey, led by their Global CEO, Dr. Richard Scott and other founders Dr. Paul Bergh and Dr. Michael Drews. The RMAofFL will offer infertility options for men, women, and the LGBTQ community.

They believe that family building isn’t just about infertility and they offer other services such as, but not limited to:

  • Laser Acupuncture
  • Yoga
  • Diet and Nutrition Counseling
  • Genetic Testing
  • Counseling
  • Donor Sperm

Did you know that for most women their fertility peaks in the mid to late 20’s? That’s scary to me.

Looking for the right fit is important. Did you know that fertility specialists are required to publish their success rates annually? This is important because Invitro fertilization isn’t exactly cheap. As a matter of fact, the average cost is $12,400 and if you find someone who is paying a lot less, beware! You have to consider that the labs themselves cost millions of dollars and cheaper rates either are quoted because they are offering a la carte items, low success, rates or below standards laboratory safety. RMAofFL offers a state of the art laboratory which results in very high success rates, as evident with their flagship location. They also over Care Share, a 100% refund program to ensure your treatment results in a live birth certificate or your money back.

Multiple embryos are not the best choice even though that is what we assume because of the way IVR was done in the past. Did you know that multiple births are 7x more likely to result in extreme preemies, 4x more NICU admissions, and 2x more risk of perinatal death than that of their single cohorts? Research also supports that the percentage of successful IVR treatments from single embryo transfers resulted in lower risk and showed excellent overall success rates with no twins*.

Having had fertility issues back in the 90s and early 2000s I have had a personal experience with some of the procedures and I can assure you all the things I learned about how the field has progressed is amazing. If you or someone you know has any questions or just want to have a consultation with the new office, they will be opening at the end of November and you can reach them at 407.804.9670.

What experience do you have with infertility?
