I believe it was four years ago that I joined in on my first Ultimate Blog Party. It’s amazing how time flies and how much my blogging world changed. What started out as a Mom Blog featuring giveaways has slowly began to take on a life of it’s own as a Lifestyle Blog with a focus on urban homesteading, recipe creation, travel, and an occasional product review thrown in for good measure.

Now I love blogging about so many more topics than when I started in 2009. I do far less product reviews and more “lifestyle” topics. This spring we invested in our first set of chicks for our new (to us) urban homestead. We got 4 Ameraucanas, 3 Orpingtons, and 3 Black Stars. We also added fluffy little rabbit’s to our family, Willie Nelson (Netherland Dwarf) and Hank Williams (Holland Lop). My youngest son plans on showing them in 4-H this next year. In addition to all the new animals we spent some time sowing the land and planted our first full garden this spring. It’s really amazing watching things you plant and nurture by hand sprout in the
sandsoil you cultivated and made fertile.My other passion is recipe creation and cooking. I love spending time in the kitchen using the herbs and vegetables straight from my garden to come up with the perfect dish. It allows me to use my creativity and knack for pairing various flavors for a delicious dish. Although creating recipes is a lot of fun the foodie in me love photographing it almost as much as preparing it. I’ve been focusing a lot more on food photography and this year my goal is to invest in a nice camera.
