Visit Doubletree Resort Orlando at SeaWorld

If you are coming to Orlando or even if you are looking for a staycation idea, check out Doubletree Resort Orlando at SeaWorld. We were recently invited to visit as guests of the hotel to experience the resort and boy were we surprised. From the fresh, warm chocolate chip cookies at check-in to the smiles and excellent service of their employees we were happy from the time we arrived until we left. There was not one single thing I can think of that didn’t meet our expectations.

We were greeted with a warm welcome and as a thank you for sharing our experience with you they had lots of snacks for our kids and a bottle of wine for hubby and I to enjoy. It was really not necessary though because the things I find important were all done well. The room was spotless, the beds and sheets were soft on my skin and provided a good nights sleep. Actually, if I had to think of one thing that wasn’t perfect it was probably the pillows. I am not a fan of big fluffy pillows. I prefer squishy down pillows.

Did you know? The Doubletree Resort Orlando at SeaWorld is the BIGGEST Doubletree in the country! I’m really not surprised as it boasts three pools, an arcade, a spa, conference rooms, miniature golf, and so much more. The boys spent time playing golf and practicing their game while I enjoyed swimming underneath the waterfall of the lagoon pool. Hubby traveled the property and enjoyed check out all the crazy squirrels. They even named one of their bars The Crazy Squirrel after their little friends. At the end of the first day I escaped to the spa, L’Esprit Day Spa.

Although the day spa is not the focus of the resort, it’s a great added bonus especially for spouses of those who are here on convention.  It’s also a great choice for us locals who want a little pampering or the vacation guest who needs to escape from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks and just wants to be pampered.  I chose a facial because it was a great way to get a little massage while working on clearing up my skin. It was nice and relaxing and my therapist was very good at communicating to me everything she was doing. She even gave me a waxing as my brows and lip were overdue. I was very happy with the experience and could recommend it confidently.

Doubletree Orlando Dinner Collage

If you are looking for dining choices there are several to choose from other the The Crazy Squirrel I mentioned earlier. You can also check out the Sonoma Lobby BarLagunaBarefoot BarThe Market, and The Pantry.  We enjoyed a nice dinner at Laguna on our second night and it was perfect. The ISLAND PORK NACHO was the table favorite featuring Sweet BBQ teriyaki pulled pork, mixed cheese, and pico de gallo. I never thought to do pulled pork bbq on nachos. What was I thinking? Definitely worth a trip just for those.  We also enjoyed a nice wedge salad ($10) for an appetizer.  The NEW YORK STRIP* Fingerling potatoes, asparagus, red wine & mushroom sauce we had was cooked perfectly and the side of mashed potatoes were out of this world with a slight touch of truffle (my favorite). Desserts were brought back to our room and devoured once our bellies had a bit of room as the portion sizes were slightly above average. All in all the experience at Laguna was wonderful and well worth another trip!

Doubltree Breakfast Collage

Don’t miss out on the breakfast buffet if you have a chance to hit it before you go out for the day. It will definitely fill you up with the wide variety of foods for the international guest. From fresh cooked eggs at the omelet station to meat/cheese trays there is everything including breakfast pizzas! The kids loved the choices (and the chocolate milk) and filled themselves up nicely in preparation to our short walk to SeaWorld for the day.  Did I mention that Doubletree Orlando at SeaWorld is an Official Hotel of SeaWorld and within walking distance? Yes, there’s even a path out the back of the property leading to the theme park.

We were lucky enough to be treated to a day at the park! One of the bonuses to being a guest is the Quick Queue passes that allow for a much shorter waiting period to enjoy some of the more popular attractions such as Manta and Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin.  Our favorite were the penguins. I absolutely want one.  They were adorable and it was so cold in there that it was a treat (the day we went was well over 100 degrees with the heat index). There are other benefits as well such as complimentary transportation to SeaWorld, Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Waterpark, Discovery Cove, & Universal Orlando* (*reservations required), Complimentary access to the SeaWorld Rescue Tour* (*reservations and admission into SeaWorld required), 10% off dining at SeaWorld and Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Waterpark, 10% off merchandise purchases of $50 or more at SeaWorld and Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Waterpark and more!
Doubletree Rooms Collage
It was great spending the day at SeaWorld and then coming back to enjoy the property and our room. I also got to tour some of their other rooms such as their pet friendly rooms offering Pure air purification. There are all types of rooms available and ours was pretty spectacular. We had a double room that was attached to a living room and kitchenette with a king room. It gave us so much privacy at night away  from the kids yet it gave us all a space to be together. I’m not sure after experiencing that freedom that we will ever be able to travel as a family again to a place that doesn’t offer something like this. It’s just amazing.
