Tulips the Perfect Mother’s Day Flowers

Nothing says spring like Tulips. I love them. They are clean, refreshing, colorful, innocent and simple. I especially love simple. Although I do not get flowers often (hint, hint) when I do get them everyone knows it should include a tulip in the bouquet. When I was around the age of 6 I played a little Dutch girl (complete with purple/pink velvet maxi dress) in the annual Tulip Festival in Albany, NY. Maybe that is why I love tulips so much – they remind me of my youth.

Last week a delivery of 20 assorted tulips and chocolates showed up at my door in the prettiest green vase. They were packaged professionally without a bump or bruise anywhere. I was very pleased because in the past when using other florist this has always been an issue. ProFlowers did a flawless job. I immediately followed the directions included in with my flowers on trimming and watering and put them out to bloom. Tulips are a bulb flower and often times the blooms take a day or two to truly come to life.

I do have to mention that this delivery did come with a small box of chocolates, however I never really got a chance to take a picture of them because they were devoured before I could turn the camera on. So, if you send these to your mom for Mother’s Day you might want to give her a heads up to hide the chocolate IMMEDIATELY!
