Taking Small Steps to a Better You with Dannon – Guess What I Did?

Dannon’s newest program “Small Steps” is a perfect fit for me and my family.  I haven’t shared this with anyone other than my mother, but I took a small step to a better “me” about a month ago.  My husband and I both quit smoking.  Isn’t that great?  Yep, I have hid the fact that I am a smoker from a lot of people for a long time because I have been so embarrassed.  I can now hold my head high and not be driven by my need to smoke.  This hasn’t been an easy task.  I’ve been a smoker for a very long time – over 30 years!

I would be a liar if I told you that I don’t think about having a cigarette, but I just push through it and take it day by day.  Sometimes I find myself trying to justify why it would be okay to stop and buy a pack of cigarettes, but I don’t do it.  Cigarettes ruled me and I have had enough.

My next venture is to get back into moving my body.  I’m not referring to moving it from bed to the couch to the car type of movement either.  My small step is 20 minutes, 5 days a week.  I have a treadmill and there is no reason than utter laziness why I can’t find 20 minutes to walk on it.  I don’t have to kill myself…I just need to take small steps.  Last year I cut soda out of my diet and lost 16 lbs., but toward the end of the year I started drinking it again.  Cutting soda from my diet is another small step I plan on tackling.

I love the idea of taking small steps.  I am trying to incorporate it into my families and my life in all areas.  In keeping with the theme Dannon is having a great instant win sweepstakes where you can win free groceries for a year, a month, or a week.  It’s as easy as entering a UPC code and your email address; however, there is no purchase necessary and if you do not have a UPC code you can still enter.  Taking small steps to a better you would be so much easier with a year of free groceries, don’t you agree?

What small steps are you taking this year to a better you?

Disclosure: “I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf ofDannon and received a coupon and gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.”

Cannot seem to find the link to enter

  4. Loved the title. I would turn it into:
“Taking small steps to a better you”

As you tell, you stopped smoking, you think about getting back into moving your body.
It seems you have set the hidden switch inside your head. Your mindset is correct. I toast fo it!!
I’m at the same stage, just don’t decided yet to start moving, but feel the urge for it.
Our modern life style is a complete paradise for a couch potato, but certainly is devastating for our human body.
    Be well,
    Julio.
