As many of you know Thanksgiving, my birthday, and Christmas aren’t that far apart from each other, therefore we are a bit slower than a lot of families when it comes time to decorating for the Christmas. My birthday is the week following Thanksgiving and since I have always disliked having to consolidate my birthday with Christmas no decorations are allowed to be up prior to the passing of my birthday weekend – whichever weekend is closest to December 2nd.
This year we did it a bit differently since I was having surgery on my birthday. We purchased our LIVE CHRISTMAS TREE online via Sears.com and it was delivered, hassle free to our door four days later. We officially opened the box and put the tree up the day before my birthday so that when I got home from surgery I wouldn’t be overwhelmed. It worked like a charm too, but we still haven’t decorated it since I’m not feeling up to par yet. It was fast, easy, and well worth the money not having to shop for a tree. I did it all from the comfort of my bed, online.
The tree came in a well packaged box wrapped in blue twine. The stump was freshly cut and it was already shaped perfectly. Our job was to cut an inch or two off the bottom, place it in its tree stand, water it, and decorate. For the past several years we have hosted the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree – a 2.5 ft. artificial tree. This year I promised we would get a bigger, better tree and we did. Although we didn’t get a 6 footer, our 5 foot tree fits perfectly for the space we have available.
The only problem with moving from a 2.5 foot tree to a 5 foot tree is figuring out what additional ornaments and lights need to be purchased, but fortunately for us Sears.com also has a perfect Platinum Shoppe featuring gorgeous ornaments by Christopher Ranko. Next year we are going to purchase one of their elegant wreathes from their fresh live trees, wreathes, and garland selections too. This year the boys wanted all blue ornaments, but we decided to use the ornaments we already had and purchase new ones next year. We did however purchase new lights for the tree since our old tree already had lights on it. We decided to go all white this year.

Thanksgiving is a few more days ahead but I never designed my Christmas tree because of travel businesses, maybe this week I will, I am really impressed about those photos you have shared, how I wish my Christmas tree will be that beautiful.

When I first opened your post and looked at the picture in the beginning, I thought that you had put up 6 Christmas trees in your living room!!! LOL You know, THIS would be a good idea actually, having a Christmas tree for each family member, but only in case you have a lot of space :). Don’t you think so?
