Roasted Smokey Edamame Recipe
Our son loves to cook. Whenever I’m in the kitchen he begs for the chance to pour, measure, stir, or whatever else I might let him do so when we get the opportunity to create something together it is always a great experience for both him and me. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services recognizes that our children develop a higher sense of pride and self-esteem when they participate in the preparation of meals and snacks, especially if they are healthier choices. One of James’ favorite foods is edamame so we decided to come up with a recipe that features edamame. We came up with the Roasted Smokey Edamame recipe featured below.
Roasted Smokey Edamame Recipe
Ingredients
2 cups shelled edamame
2 T. olive oil
1 T. garlic salt
1/2 T. red pepper
1/2 T. paprika
Directions
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Be sure the edamame are thoroughly dry. We used the frozen edamame already shelled and put them in a strainer, patted them with papertowels, and then blew them dry with the hairdryer for added fun. Once thoroughly dry add olive oil and other ingredients and mix until well coated. Put foil on a baking sheet to line it and add edamame. Spread evenly and place in oven for 20 minutes, stirring half way through. If you like them crispy turn oven up to 400 degrees once the first 20 minutes are complete and cook an additional 10 minutes.
Cool and serve!
Sounds delicious and can’t wait to make them.
