Peppermint Bark & Other Holiday Confections featuring M&M’S® & Glad

One of my favorite things about this time of the year is that you get to bake all sorts of yummy cookies and confections.  Not only do you get to baked and create all these delightful treats but you get to eat them too.  I think the tasting part is particularly important because I give away most of what I make and I want to be sure it tastes good first.  The way it works in our kitchen during the holidays is one cookie for “them” and two for us!  I bet there are a lot of families out there who do it very similarly to the Samples family.

Every year we have traditional cookies and confections that we make, but each year we try out two or three new recipes as well.  We are always looking in the magazines and on the web to find something easy and yummy to add.  This year we found some recipes in the mos peculiar place, on the back of the Glad Holiday Storage package!

The Verdict

The M&M’S® Chocolate Espresso Peppermint Bites recipe was amazing!  Although they would probably have looked better with the M&M’S® Holiday Baking Mini’s on top, my youngest really wanted the regular ones because his favorite color is blue.  We compromised and I made the cookies with the traditional M&M’S® Baking Mini’s and used the M&M’S® White Chocolate Peppermint (only available at Target) on top of our Peppermint Bark instead.  They both came out great and made great gifts in the Glad Holiday Storage products (only at Target). Everything was really easy to find too as the end caps were nicely decorated and festive.  I found the M&M’S® in the Christmas/Holiday aisle and the Glad Holiday Storage products in the market side of the store.

You can also break pieces of a candy cane on top if desired.
