My Top Summer Fitness Essentials

Disclosure: I received product from Panasonic to try in exchange of sharing my honest opinion.

Summer is still going strong in Central Florida.  With the temperature still reaching up to the 90s it’s hard some times to get outside and get physical, but if you are going to live here there are some things you can do to combat the heat and still get in a workout. On days when it’s just too hot we hit the gym to get some time on the treadmill or jump in the kayak to get out on the water.  On occasion we head over to the coast and fight the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, that’s always a great workout!

Regardless of what our workout is there are always some essential things we include. Our summer headphones is definitely one of the mandatory items! Depending on what activity we are doing our preferred headphones are either the Panasonic Open Ear Bone Conduction Headphones or the Panasonic Sport Clip Headphones. The Panasonic Open Ear Bone Conduction Headphones are great when you need to be aware of your surroundings. I like them a lot for cycling because I can clearly hear approaching motor vehicles while still enjoying my “Workout Jams” (seriously that’s the name of my playlist on my music library).  Since I generally ride after the sun has set these are particularly a good choice because of their reflective design.  As an added bonus they hold up in rain and sweaty workouts because they are also water resistant.

The Panasonic Sport Clip Headphones are my favorite for running walking on the treadmill, kayaking, and hiking. These headphones are also resistant to rain and sweat, but they are designed for more active and mobile workouts. The cord wraps behind your ear which is helpful and they have a quick-fit adjuster that keeps them in place even if I’m jumping around. One of my favorite features of this particular design is the smartphone controller and microphone that allow me to manage my music and calls with the same headset! A must for a busy blogger!

No one can keep up a active pace for long in Florida without water and the Contigo AUTOSPOUT® Addison Water Bottle features a one-touch-button spout release for easy one-handed drinking from a straw. This keeps my hand free for more important things like ensuring I don’t fall or for holding my smartphone while I scroll through my music. I love the fact that you can close the drinking spout too because I’m a bug freak and if something lands on my straw I FREAK OUT won’t drink it. Finally, you need some sort of cooling towel, like the Misson EnduraCool™ Instant Cooling Towel. I also own a headband and my son has the hood. These things are awesome! All you do is get them wet, snap, and instant coolness helps keep your body temperature under control.

  1. Mary Ambrosino says

A water bottle is the first thing I grab.

  2. That towel sounds awesome. In Mississippi it is just as hot and I hate going outside in it. I love the sound of the sport clip headphones.

  3. Thanks for highlighting your top summer essentials! I will have to check out those headphones more as they seem awesome!

  4. Earphones are definitely a must or me, especially when I was into running a couple of years ago. I haven’t tried a Panasonic yet, but now I’m interested.

  5. Summer is still hot here in NY 🙂 I love the cooling towel. My husband does use one at work he works in consstruction and it helps him a lot when the temperature is high. The water bottle is really nice from Contigo. 24 ounce bottle is a great size nice and big. These are definite essentials, thank you for sharing.

  6. I have that Contigo bottle for working out. I just bought one for my son to have at school too. I totally need tunes sometimes to work out and headphones that won’t fall off while you are working out is really nice. Lately though I’ve been going to the gym with a friend, so we tend to talk, but I still love just jamming out whenever I can.

  7. These are great products for working out! Having a good set of earbuds or headphones is a must have for me.

  8. No. 1 item is water bottle. I need to order a new pair of earbuds. I had some but lost it somewhere

  9. My current headset is also a Panasonic and it has been with me for years! That only proves that Panasonic’s products are of high quality. I’d love to get new ones too, and I’d definitely check out their new line of headphones and earbuds.

  10. I love your summer fitness essentials. I like the Contigo bottle and the headphones look so cool!

  11. I always tool water bottle and headphones with me when exercising during the summer but its been a while now.

  12. Interesting! I haven’t seen the open ear type model but I’ll have to check it out. I typically like knowing what’s going on around me rather than drowning it all out.

  13. We definitely keep the water bottles handy during this time of year. There is no faster way to ruin your day – or week – than to dehydrate your body!

  14. Those headphones look pretty great – I definitely need a new pair, and probably a water bottle too! Thanks for sharing!

  15. Bottle of water is my first priority. I feel the summer and my family loves it too.

  16. Great water bottle for the summer weather. Love this. Hope to buy one too!

  17. Bike-riding in the Florida heat during a vacation was an unforgettable experience…it’s a different type of heat than what we are used to. Anyhow, I have a few cooling towels that haven’t been cracked open yet…maybe it’s time.

  18. I’m dying to try some of the bone conduction ear phones. They sound so fascinating with how they work.

  19. Those headphones sounds amazing if they are resistant to rain and sweat. I’ll check it out!

  20. The first thing I grab is my water. There have been a few times that I forgot water, and I end up running to a drinking fountain every five minutes, lol. My second go to, is my headphones.
