“Mom You Rock” Skype’s Personalized Mother’s Day Cards

I was so excited to be chosen as one of the Skype Ambassadors recently by Mom Central because Skype is something that I used EVER DAY for video conferences, chatting, and business.  I live on Skype and I really should own stock in the company.  Since my job takes place in front of a computer there really isn’t any other way that is as convenient. Today I learned even more and I found this pretty fun Facebook  promotions, Say it with Skype and their “Mom You Rock” app.  It’s a pretty fun app that simulates a group call, but with the band of your choice who hold sing to your mom!  You can, if you choose, partake in the video and at the end a special message to your mom is held up via signs (at least on the video I did).  Here is the video I did (at 7am before I showered & while I was eating and having my coffee)…

For every “Mom You Rock” video created Skype is donating $1 to Save the Children’s Global Action Fund so please make that special Mom in your life a video today and your donation will benefit the MomsTheWord.org campaign!

I don’t personally chat with my family (they are all out of state for me) via Skype and up until now I never really thought about it.  I’m not sure why I haven’t…especially because I only get to see my mom every two or three years and that just isn’t enough.  I think the most difficult part of the process will be talking my mom through installing the software on her computer, not that it is difficult…but she is somewhat technically challenged some times.  (Yes mom, I know you read my blog…I still love you.) 

The video component of Skype has always been really good quality and clear.  It is very rare that I don’t get a good connection on my calls and videos regardless if they are video group chats or one-on-one.  If you don’t already use Skype I hope you will try it out and add me as a friend so that we can chat.  My username is: momof2boyslisa.
