During the holidays it gets harder and harder for me to find the time during the week to prepare a good, homemade meal for my family. If I’m not making Christmas Cards, ornaments, or some other craft for a present then I’m writing. Things get really busy for bloggers this time of the year. However, I hate ordering meals out because it’s quite expensive and really there are not a lot of places around us that have food worth ordering. I’m especially a bit picky when it comes to the pizzerias and Italian food places because I was raised in an Italian family.

Did you know that about me?

I’m half Filipino and half Scottish-mix but my step-father is Italian, by the name of Ambrosino. You don’t get much more Italian than that really…from Sicily I believe. Growing up we had pasta every week, if not more than once a week. My all time favorite meal was when he made Eggplant Parmesan. It was out of this world. Anyway, to get back to what I was saying, I’m a pretty good judge of good Italian food and when I don’t make it we do Michael Angelo’s. It’s particularly perfect for pre-holiday meal time. The multi-serve (19.5 – 38 oz) Michael Angelo’s meals work great for our family and we normally serve different varieties so everyone has their favorites.

Whether it’s Sausage Lasagna or Eggplant Parmesan, served with a side salad in under an hour, poof, dinner is served. I think one of the reasons we like their food so much is because they are still a family-owned business ran by the CEO Michael Angelo Renna and his mother Sara. They have been preparing Italian food for years and they found a way to freeze their recipes and share their dishes while maintaining flavor and freshness that tastes like the original. Since there are no additives you get a more authentic taste. I’m a firm believer that just because I don’t have time to prepare meals through the holidays like I normally do, my family shouldn’t suffer.

As Michael likes to say, “If you can’t find it in Mom’s kitchen, you won’t find it in our food.”
