Be a Little Selfish This Holiday Season: Get Rewarded with Chase Ultimate Rewards #ChaseHolidays

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Chase Ultimate Rewards for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Sometimes it’s okay to be selfish.  Well, maybe it isn’t selfish really but more along the lines of smart!  The holiday shopping season is upon us and so are all the sales, so why not take advantage of the little things that add up to be a lot?  Like using a credit card with a rewards program, such as Chase Ultimate Rewards, available to Chase Freedom, Chase Sapphire and Ink from Chase cardholders.

This year our shopping list is a pretty decent size.  The boys have filled the list with things like video games to concert tickets and all these things cost money, right?  Well if I use a Chase card with Ultimate Rewards (see those in paragraph one) to pay for these things, I earn cash back for me!  For instance if I find Ethan that video game console he wants and use my Chase card with Ultimate Rewards to buy it I get points credited to my account.  As I go through my list and continue making purchases those points continue to grow and after the holidays I can use those points for cash back, gift cards, travel and/or experiences.  Chances are once I’m done shopping this holiday season I’ll be needing a good massage and a night out on the town.

On the other hand, if you have been saving up all your Ultimate Rewards points throughout the year you can redeem them for merchandise, cash back, gift cards, etc. that make great gifts! The Ultimate Rewards becomes your one-stop shop for the holidays.

My Shopping Strategy

If you use these simple tips along with your rewards credit card you will be well on your way to taking advantage of great savings.

1.    Take advantage of all the sales online, but do it from the comforts of your home.  Did you know that many of the stores offer specials when you sign up for their newsletter that you can use in-store or online?  Save gas and stay at home to shop in your PJs.
2.    Compare deals and don’t be afraid to return something you find cheaper – as long as it doesn’t cost you more in the long run.  Many stores will price match too!  Remember time is money – and gas isn’t free.
3.    Purchase things you normally have to purchase anyway using your rewards credit card because the points you earn can all be saved for a larger purchase.
4.    Make a list and stick to it!

So what are some of the things you will do this season to be just a little selfish?
